How this vacation makes a difference

We have been awarded 3 Greenstops in recognition of the company's environmental achievements. By preserving authentic houses we keep the architectional tradition of Cyprus and give locals an alternative source of income as well as providing them with jobs. We use local products and serve homemade dishes prepared from fruits and vegetables from plantations which do not use chemical pesticides. We use solar energy to heat the water in our traditional houses. Our activities allow the guest to explore the nature, culture and tradition of the beautiful island Cyprus.

Story of the accommodation provider

We were established in 1987 by Sofronis Potamitis, in an effort to revive rural communities and preserve the traditional houses of bygone days. With loving care, several family houses in the villages of Tochni, Kalavasos and Psematismenos were thoroughly renovated to provide comfort without sacrificing their original, rustic character and are all licensed by the Cyprus Tourism Organization.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Tochni was one of the most beautiful villages in the area. It suited us because it was very quiet. Renovating old buildings provides an immediate atmosphere to the vacation and is much better than staying in a new apartment.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

It is centrally located, but you still have to be prepared to travel if you want to make the most of the vacation.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes it did benefit local people, and in the respect of renovating old buildings it did minimize the impact on the environment. However, if you travel with children you definitely need a car in order to get to the beach or other tourist attractions. It is great for older people who maybe be happy to stay around the village. A good base for a cycling vacation.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very enjoyable.
