The most memorable part were the ...scones on arrival (they were the best I have ever tasted!), walking around the beautiful country side and the farm... Excellent. There is something quite magical about the site. Not sure if it is the caravans, the scenery, or Perry and Collene. Either way, we came away refreshed, and for the first time ever, we are really considering going back rather than continually finding new places to visit. We thought the service was excellent. We loved the laid back attitude...On a few evenings we had dinner on the beach with a fire underneath the beautiful starry sky which we thought was quite special. (more)
It's hard to say what the most memorable thing was but one memory that stands out is being served an absolutely delicious breakfast every day at a table with a perfect white table cloth surrounded by flowers, friendly hens and kittens - all right on the edge of a stunning beach! (more)
There were lots of memorable parts of the vacation. I loved just sitting on a cliff or a beach gazing at the wild Atlantic breakers, I loved the lush sub-tropical vegetation & flowers, and I found the excursions to Sintra fascinating. We had such wonderful, exciting and relaxing time, made possible by the beautiful nature, the perfectly designed accommodation, perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment and most of all by the great effort, the hard work, the touching kindness and the relentless but unobtrusive enthusiasm of Porridge and Jeanelle and of all the other people. The bedroom we chose was magic and I'll never forget going down the escarpment garden to the cliff walk at the bottom - that was brilliant. This accommodation completely excelled itself with the hamper and goodies that were provided. Simply sitting back, enjoying the peace and tranquillity was the most memorable...We genuinely think we had very little impact on the environment. We spent money in local shops - although the nearby Waitrose was a temptation! (more)
The village is set in an amazing location and has been restored sympathetically, maintaining its sense of age and history. The view from our balcony across to the surrounding hills, was spectacular. (more)
From our arrival by boat through the mangroves through to our departure three days later, we loved our time at the lodge. We were the only guests staying there at the time and we received a high level of care from owners Dan and Holly. (more)
A particular highlight was the welcome we received from Carrie and Colin. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we could possibly want, including maps, guide books and a lift to and from Fowey in the evening.
