1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Diving off the rocks into the sea first thing each morning and the views from the bedroom windows across the sea.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Expect to spend most of your time at the villla - it is lovely. Find the fish shop in Kas. Cook lots, the villa is really well equipped. Buy a bag of nightlight candles for eating out at night. enjoy!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The caretaker was a local as were the cleaners etc, so i guess so, but not obviously.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good and hugely relaxing.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Having the sea at the bottom of the garden. You could stay at home all day and feel like you'd had an adventure. Also waking up each morning to fresh bread delivered to our door every morning.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Take a snorkel ! Also shop at the local market on a friday. You get lovely fresh and local produce and so cheaply too. Also take a boat trip out around the sunken village. Great day out and a fabulous lunch cooked on board.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We shopped locally, supported the local restaurants. Eat food produced locally when we cooked.
The boat trip was from Kas harbour run by local boatowners. Also the local wine was good too.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A Fabulous rest in a beautiful setting, but still always something to do if you wanted.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We rented a house so the most memorable part was arriving and finding a lovely place that was ours for a week. The house is very well equipped, comfortable, with a beautiful garden, access to the sea and a nice (shared) swimming pool.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

The house is on the Kas peninsula so no shops etc nearby but easy access by taxi (+/- £ 7) or local bus which runs once an hour. We noticed both in Istanbul and in Kas that there were large plastic bottles filled with blue bottle tops attached to fences, outside shops etc and wondered why. On enquiring we were told that these were collected and sent to the water company in exchange for walking aids for the elderly. We thought this was a really great thing to do so please pass on to all travelers in Turkey.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Omer, the gardener/caretaker and his wife are local so this may benefit local people and we shopped in local shops, took local taxis etc so perhaps the local community benefited a little.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Perfect.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The beautiful views from the top floor of the villa, a days sailing and snorkelling and just being in such a relaxing location always close to the sea. The little Mediterranean garden attached to the villa, with lemon trees and path to the sea was a real treat and obviously well looked after.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Also book a day on one of the yachts from Kas harbour. We booked with Captain Ergun Dundar and would highly recommend him; you can find him on the web. Beautiful little islands and coves to explore locally. Also visit Seklikent Gorge. Kas eateries for lunch or an evening are lovely. Consider going in April - pros are that it is before the proper tourist season starts so it is very quiet with beautiful sunny weather and no insects, cons are that the pool and sea were cold ( shorty wetsuits very useful).

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, our money for food went locally, and local people cared for the villa etc. Recycling appeared to be missing completely in many places.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very relaxing, lovely and welcoming, a memorable last minute vacation. Sea views that a five star hotel in the south of France would be proud of.

Thank you for taking the time to send in this positive feedback. It is great to read that our efforts in the garden and around the grounds are noticed. I agree that this year recycling seems to be non existent on the peninsula. Last year Kas residents had managed to persuade the authorities to provide recycling bins on the roadsides. They seem to have removed. We will look into this and request that the bins are replaced. Many thanks.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The setting was fabulous. The villa had a path to the sea with a sea platform and also had a lovely pool and garden. The views across the bay from the bedroom windows were spectacular and the weather was consistently sunny and hot. Seeing the villa and it's location was particularly memorable but we also enjoyed spending time in Kas and going on boat trips etc

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be prepared for the heat if you're traveling there in July. It was extremely hot well into the evening; about 35 degrees celsius in the day, and we could have taken fewer and cooler clothes. You have to be careful to drink lots of water and watch your alcohol consumption! Best to avoid July/ August if you can't cope with the heat.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

It did in that local people were employed to service the villa and tend the garden but there seems to be little recycling in Turkey. We put our rubbish out as requested but could not find any facilities to separate and recycle glass, tins, plastic, paper etc. This is a real issue with plastic as you have to drink bottled water and lots of it!

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We had a fabulous time. We loved the villa and it was a wonderful vacation.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

A really functional villa and in a perfect setting for families.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Try to buy produce at the local farmers markets and eat as much as possible at home. The restaurants are extremely expensive and the quality of food and choice very poor.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Very much, they take every opportunity to ®"fleece" the vacationmaker.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good, the owners of the villa and the service was as good as one could ever expect.

Read the operator's response here:

Many thanks for these comments. I feel that perhaps they are a little harsh on Kas which in relation to other vacation destinations around Turkey actually has relatively reasonable prices in the main. One can still sit down for a soup and basic meal for around £5 per person for example; namely at Seckin Restaurant.

Some restaurants indeed are expensive, some bars too are very expensive, but these are not necessarily run by what we would term 'local people', those are more the simpler, no frills establishments which are still cheap and community based. The local fresh produce market too, as mentioned in the review, offers great quality produce at low prices.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The most memorable part of the vacation was the extraordinary views across the Med to the Greek island of Meis. Sitting by the edge of the Med and diving straight in at the bottom of the private path down from the villa.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Everything was so well organised I donít think travelers to this villa need any tips!!! Would recommend having a traditional Turkish bath and massage. Our whole family went and it was fantastic.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. Local people were employed to manage issues for travelers and Omer the gardener brought us bread every morning. As we were self catering all our money went into the local economy.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

This was the most fabulous vacation we have ever been on!! The villa was out of this world, the setting was amazing, the people were wonderful and the food in the local market and the restaurants was fab. We will definitely go back as soon as possible.
