Responsible tourism: Photography day tours from Ljubljana, Slovenia
Our workshops are limited to small groups (max 6 with 1 guide) and our itineraries are planned to minimise travel between locations. We stick to suggested routes and legitimate pathways when walking and photographing.
Slovenia offers beautiful landscapes, villages and a jewel of a city with well preserved nature and cultural heritage sites. We provide an example to our guests and locals on how to keep preserve a clean environment and protect nature. While photographing we often pick up trash, educate our guests about nature, animals and plants and how its all connected. All our clients are issued with plastic water bottles so they can fill them any time tap water in the Adriatic region is among the best quality available. Sometimes we can even drink water from fresh mountain springs!
We take refreshment breaks in local establishments where our guests can experience untouched nature and traditional life of the region. Most of these produce organic food in a traditional way which is more sustainable for nature and also of better quality as regular processed food.
Back at the office we are almost a paperless operation and conduct as much of our correspondence and promotions via the web and internet.
We understand how to get the balance right between bringing visitors to Slovenia in order to support tourism and photograph the numerous natural wonders it offers whilst respecting the need to preserve nature, cultural and heritage sites and protect the different environments.
We have fostered relationships with local custodians and tourist site managers and respect the rules and operating procedures wherever we visit. We use local guides who have expert knowledge of the photographic locations we choose. They understand and respect the needs of local people and wildlife living there.
On our half and full-day trips we take our guests to local Gostilnas (Inns) to experience a warm Slovene welcome and to sample locally produced food. Here they can learn where the food comes from, how it is farmed and even how to make it themselves once home. We support local business by encouraging our clients to purchase souvenirs and specialities of the region we are visiting.
