Responsible tourism: Athens yoga and wellness day in Greece
We treat all of the flora and fauna that we encounter with respect. The tour is without any motorized vehicles and it is all about slow travel-walking and swimming. When clients are coming to the starting point of the tour we recommend that they get there by public transportation. We do not leave any waste lying around. We pick it up and dispose of it in a proper way. We financially support nature organizations and we work in close cooperation with them. See also the "promise to support my community" section. The tour is really all about promoting the natural heritage of Greece. This trip includes a nature hike in the Natura 2000 "Ymmitos" nature reserve -its most southern tip. Local wildlife includes buzzards, Eleonora's Falcon, grouses, foxes, lizzards, turtles, owls, hoopoe and robins. Flora: greek spiny spurge, olive, sage, thyme, caper plant, orchids, anemones, blue bells, irises and many, many more species. There are a high number of endemic species. We reduce our energy and we reduce, reuse reclycle. We make sure not to harm the natural balance on our walk.
We believe in a set of principles based on the laws of nature. Nature supports an almost unending abundance of variety and diversity. A visit to Greece with that same flair for diversity results in: • experiences that celebrate ecological diversity • experiences that celebrate a diversity of place & culture • use of diverse & natural energy flows The entrance fees to the lake benefits the local community too. Overall, we provide guests with lots of local information about things to do in Greece and where to go in Greece. We emphasize the more authentic way of traveling, with respect for nature and the environment, family-run accommodations and low-carbon ways of traveling. We actively work with nature organizations and support their work, which is much needed these days. Greece is facing a severe economic crisis and needs tourism more than ever. With this trip we hope to support the Greek economy by the so much needed diversification of the tourist product via alternative forms of tourism.
