Responsible tourism: Masterpieces of the Rhine
The preservation of historical architecture and the unique culture within the region of the Middle Rhine is of highest priority for all the partners of the “Masterpieces between Rhine and Moselle”. Especially the maintenance of historical buildings such as Eltz Castle or Sayn Palace represents enormous costs.
Natural phenomena like the geyser in Andernach or the legendary rocks of the Loreley need to be obtained in a sustainable manner as well. In order to support this procedure, all visitors who buy a ticket for the sights, contribute to the process of preservation and therefore guarantee that these unique touristic features will be maintained for future generations.
Through organising several events and activities at these points of interest, money is raised in order to support charitable associations with the proceeds. One example is the Universal Children’s Day with special activities for families with children at the different sights.
Local visitors from the region around Rhine and Moselle very much support the preservation of the historical and natural sights. Most of the employees working at the masterpieces are based in the region.
The gastronomic offers of the different sights are all based on local produce and products in order to keep the value creation in the region and minimize the ecological impact as much as possible.
