Sussex canoeing day tours, England
How this vacation makes a difference
Environment
We are focused on the idea that by exploring the outdoors through activities we provide a vehicle for learning experiences as well as for people to have lots of fun. Our river based activities are linked to increasing peoples understanding of the river valley in the South Downs National Park or High Weald AONB and their unique habitats, landscape and history as well as making the link to human activity, pollution and energy.
Where possible we organise transport from a customers base in Sussex and we are currently talking to both a leading railway operator and a green bus company about providing travel options for our customers that will further reduce existing carbon footprints.
Al our food is locally sourced and seasonal so that when you enjoy a ‘Taste of Sussex’ picnic or one of our ‘Muurikka Meals’ you can be sure that food miles have been kept as low as possible and you experience the flavour of the South Downs and/or the High Weald.
Community
One of our key ambitions of to provide new work opportunities for local people who want to balance family life with projects and jobs that hey find interesting and stimulating. To date we have provided such opportunities for five local families and we want our future growth to continue this pattern.
Whilst only a young organisation we have also begun the thinking and initial conversations with a local college and a scheme called Opt In + to provide work placement and voluntary roles for young people wanting to build up their c.v. for future employment.
As a venture promoting the South Downs National Park and the High Weald AONB as a great place to spend time, we are developing partnerships with other like minded local businesses and organisations in the area. A key aim of these partnerships is to help grow each others businesses and grow the local economy. Pubs, cycle hire, café’s, equipment specialists, B&B’s and Farm shops all benefit in this way from our activities and we have developed a ‘favourite places’ aspect to our business whereby we promote such businesses on our website.
Landscape
We are all about providing visitors, schools and businesses with the chance to experience the Sussex landscape, get off the beaten track and learn more about the environment, culture and geography of the area and what makes the South Downs National Park and High Weald AONB so special
We have an in-depth knowledge of the area and a range of people skilled in the activities that allow our customers to explore Sussex’s varied landscapes. We are continuously looking to increase these activities and ways in which customers can learn about and enjoy the landscapes of the South Downs National Park and High Weald AONB. In doing so we are providing other organisations with the chance to demonstrate their own unique knowledge of Sussex and its protected landscapes.
