It all starts at home so we have first worked at reducing our carbon footprint in our UK offices. Through energy conservation measures and recycling policies in place, we are proud to be actively reducing the waste produced and our impact on the environment. We support various projects all over the world to try and give something back to the places we visit.
Leaders & local suppliers
This trip is run by two of our most experienced cycling leaders, both of whom have received detailed training and assessment as cycle tour leaders. An element of their training deals with Responsible Tourism and looks at practical ways to reduce the impact of a cycling group visiting an area.
As a part of our continued commitment to responsible tourism, we work closely with local hotels to run this trip in a way that aims to reduce our impact on the environment. All hotels are locally owned and our food is bought fresh from local markets and shops to ensure money directly supports the smaller villages visited. Cycling through small villages such as Monticchello allows tourism to be shared amongst smaller villagers that do not usually benefit from tourism.
We operate small group tours that have a low impact on the communities we visit and we always ensure our operations do not disrupt or lead to the displacement of local people. This allows us to stay in unique and characterful accommodation that may not have otherwise benefitted from tourism due to their limited size.
Our trips have minimal environmental impact, particularly as you will be providing much of the power yourself! When cycling off road our leaders brief groups on how to ride responsibly and all routes follow developed trails to reduce erosion. Many trips venture into remote locations rarely visited by tourists, helping to support and develop traditional communities.
