Your hotel in Alagoas is a low impact eco resort designed with sustainability in mind, using reclaimed local materials and specially designed to minimise its environmental impact from water use to light pollution. The surrounding area is used very successfully to harvest as much food as needed, as are the seas, with local fishermen providing their freshly caught fish to the hotel, still using traditional methods.
The staff are employed and trained from the local population, providing educational opportunities, such as learning English, that didn’t previously exist in this poor area of the country.
The same is true at the Fazenda in Sao Paulo state, where they have a project teaching English in the local community, and they also make an effort to keep local traditions alive hosting cultural events in the grounds of the property. Finally they are also reviving sustainable farming techniques in the production of their coffee, cachaca, vegetables, fruits and cheeses, using no chemical products on the farm.

Equally important to us, because of how much the business and the clients gain from them is giving these staff the opportunity to earn money, improve their English and show off their home to you. Part of the cost of your vacation goes towards the planting of 20 hard wood trees in the Mata Atlantica, under the guidance of R.E.G.U.A. (Reserva Ecologica de Guapi Assu) who protect one of the last stands of primary tropical rainforest left in the severely depleted Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil.
