Our Diving Centre opened its doors in 1995 out of a love for the outdoors & a desire to do something positive and different for our native land. Since then we have shared this passion with our guests encouraging them to behave responsibly and help preserve the environment.
Our economic policy is based on rules of common sense. We direct travelers to apartments, "agriturismi" and hotels owned by local people and always advise our guests to use local shops, farm shops & restaurants. In cooperation with PADI, we organize an annual "Beach clean-up". We are also working with DAN (Diver's Alert Network), a non-profit medical and research organization associated with Duke University Medical Center on their campaign about the security of the divers in the water.
Our environmental policy covers our action both on land and in the water. We recycle waste (organic, paper, plastic, glass and iron, aluminium, battery, medicine), are conscious of our water & energy usage (we have solar panels in our apartments), re-use paper, reduce plastic usage (e.g. water bottles) and share cars. In the water, we put all our efforts in to minimizing the negative impact of scuba diving using low emission engines, anchoring in the sand, using the equipment as long as possible (despite the temptation to buy the latest gear!), and by encouraging our guests to take courses in buoyancy.
All our boats are non smoking (avoiding cigarette butts in the water, promoting good health) and we ask the staff not to smoke with our guests. Furthermore we ask our staff and clients to sign a Conduct Code which covers responsible diving ("look but don't touch", buoyancy control & equipment techniques to avoid damage to the sea bed & corals, "practice skills over sand and not the sensitive reef", "don't throw litter or exhale bubbles under rocks"). We also include not buying souvenirs/gifts from corals, shells or hard woods, recycling, water conservation, car sharing, reducing plastic & energy use and reusing paper.
'Cinzia was born in Cala Gonone and spent all summers of her life there. During her University years (Art subject) she took several courses of scuba diving and boat licence. After tasting the 'pleasure of diving' it was easy to take the decision to work in the nature field. Maurizio, her business partner has a degree in Economy, is from Nuoro and spends all summers also in Cala Gonone with his family and uses his free time pursuing outdoor activities like free-climbing, absailing, sailing, speleology, diving, trekking & exploring. Due to this it was a 'natural' decision to work in the nature field. The idea, both for Maurizio and Cinzia was to enjoy their work with an activity that both loved deeply and share it with like minded travelers '.

We invite every traveler who books a vacation via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the vacations they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same vacation can have different views!
