Small group adventure vacation
This is a 'small group adventure' - on our group trips you'll be with a maximum of 11 like minded travelers and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are traveling alone or with friends it's good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travelers of all ages who enjoy meeting people from other parts of the world as well as seeing new places!

Because of our small group size, we're able to guarantee departures for all of our trips. Once you have booked and paid your deposit, your trip is guaranteed to go!

How this vacation makes a difference

We just can't get enough of the Amazon, not only as a jaw-dropping travel destination but also as a global treasure and this trip will help to ensure that the incredibly Amazon Rainforest is here for us to enjoy for generations to come! Our Amazon Fund will help support on the ground projects by the Foundation's long time partners Greenpeace and WWF. By booking your Latin American adventure with us you're helping us work towards a sustainable future for the Amazon.

This trip gives you plenty of opportunities to get to know the culture and vibrant history of Latin America. There are numerous chances for local interaction as we cover so much ground using all means of public transport. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn from a friendly local who strikes up a conversation during your journey.

Your leader and the occasional local guide will be able to direct you to many local eateries throughout the trip, helping you discover real local fare at real local prices (and probably helping you learn some Spanish at the same time). All travelers are encouraged to explore with the group and on their own, learn a few words of the language and interact with the locals as much as possible.

Local guides are employed to help explain as much as possible about the cultural differences and the historically significant places that we visit. This also allows us to appreciate the importance of preserving and respecting these sites and to help us minimise the impact of our visits.

There are plenty of opportunities to support local merchants in the markets and stalls that we pass along the way. We can purchase traditional handicrafts from local artisans and learn more about the importance of preserving these crafts.

Great vacation. Will be booking another soon as poss. The tour guide was the best. Thanks Roberto. Recommend the vacation. A long time traveling in the bus but worth it. Very interesting places to visit. Enough culture but not too much.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The people who I was with. I'm 21 but didn’t feel out of place at all throughout. Some of the most fun I had during the trip was in the mini-van with the other travelers. Including my tour leader Diego, who was not only a great laugh, but also very organised and flexible with our itinerary. Being more then happy to help sort any problems that came up during the trip. Making sure I got the maximum out of the time I had in Mexico and Guatemala. (Both of which I would recommend to anyone thinking of going on vacation). Of course other memorable moments included all the locations we visited. But for simplicity, comfort and fun, a group trip like this one was the only way to go.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Through no fault of our tour, most people were slightly ill at some point. Make sure you bring any necessary medication, and some sickness/headache etc tablets. You don’t want it to effect your vacation.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I think if I wanted to not effect the environment, I shouldn't have gone on vacation in the first place. However if i was going to do a vacation like this, a tour [with this operator] would be the best way to help the locals and minimize the effect on the environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good. Ordinarily with somewhere like Mexico I’d have to spend lots of money and time trying to arrange things like transport. But with our tour leader taking care of it, I had nothing to worry about. Also having somebody who knew the area's, made plenty of difference. Showing us the best places to eat or visit. I travel quite a lot, and although this was my first time with this operator, I will definitely be booking my next vacation through them.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Mexico stood out for me. I loved the colours, vibrancy, food and people.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

On this vacation you cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. The first part of the vacation is especially tiring. There's not really enough time to do justice to each location so you will feel like you get just a taste of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize on this trip. You also pass through some very different climates so make sure you pack for rain, cold, heat etc

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Mostly, although I think more can be done.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Overall, ok.

Thank you for your feedback Emma. While this trip does cover a lot in the 22 days we do try and spend at least two days in each location we visit to give clients enough time to explore. Wherever possible we like to give our groups the freedom to do as they choose. You can be as spontaneous as you like; pursuing you own interests one day and taking part in activities we have arranged the next. It’s up to you how much or how little you do.
