By sending clients to this Dubrovnik villa we are supporting the local community and economy. The house owner benefits from the direct income of renting the villa and also by bringing travelers to the village the whole community benefits. Local restaurants and taverns, home made souvenir sellers, boat or bus drivers etc. When we send clients to this destination we always recommend domestic services (services run by local people). For each of our travelers we pay tourist tax to the local community, they direct that money to developing the area. In the last decade in Croatia it was very popular to sell old houses and properties. However, many people have realised that renovating old houses into villas or apartments is a much better idea than selling it. We support that idea and we do our efforts to promote and rent those properties.
We encourage travelers to be more responsible with water waste, and we inform all our travelers before their tour about area, especially travelers on tours when they are in protected areas, sea or countryside. We inform travelers about local cultures and habits, we inform our travelers that leaving litter in the sea or beach could have very negative consequences to the fish, sea ecosystem and finally themselves. As a company we employ company wide responsible policies such as using recycled paper, recycling all our waste paper (brochures, etc) and conducting all our correspondence and promotion via the internet and email, minimizing the amount of paper used for our activities.
We support different local ecological associations and our staff were directly involved in afforestation (planting of pine trees in Dubrovnik area after fire disaster in summer 2007). Besides this afforestation during autumn 2008 and a couple of seasons before, we directly support and we are involved in the ecological action of cleaning the sea. This underwater cleaning is ecological action which is support by local diving centers and fisherman's associations. The planting trees and underwater cleaning are ecological actions which we have supported for many years; moreover I am one of founders of this ecological association.
