Luxury cruise in Western Australia, snorkel & dive
How this vacation makes a difference
Environment
The nature of our operations do not impact on terrestrial environment – no need for land based structures – ‘leave nothing but footprints’ motto onboard. We make significant contribution to parks & wildlife management via license fees and feedback.
An onboard Naturalist promotes protection of wildlife and national parks and educates crew & guests. Detailed walking guidelines are in place which comply to National Park guidelines. Onboard briefings are regular.
We abide by the whale watching code of conduct and we have been issued with an eco accreditation which was a lengthy process for the entire itinerary on the West Coast for the next 3 years. We only ever catch and keep fish that are to be consumed on the vessel and our size limits are way larger than the legal limits issued by the Dept. of Fisheries. Before each trip we have a detailed speech addressed to all guests by a marine biologists of the do’s and don’ts whilst snorkeling and diving and a presentation each night on the marine life sighted on each particular day. We even have a naturalist on board to talk to guests about the land based activities and wildlife experience whilst doing so. Also all our tenders have the latest in technology outboard motors which minimize fuel consumption and omission output.
The ship has a minimal carbon footprint, and free transfers to & from the vessel lessens the amount of transport required by guests.
Community
Being a small local town our embarkation/disembarkation point in Broome helps the community in many ways – employment, use of town services, purchaser of local goods & supplies (fuel, produce, housekeeping, stationary etc), monies spent in the township from both guests crew, pre & post accommodation for guests in local hotels, and marketing for future tourism.
We are a supporter of local community organisations such as Royal Flying Doctor Service.
