I loved this little farm and the people who run the B&B. It was in a lovely spot by a stream...I loved my time in the area of the B&B.

There were lots of memorable moments:- from lovely walks, beautiful surroundings of the hotel, really lovely owners, Ilaria and Derek, who couldn't have been more helpful, beautiful starry night sky and lots of different types of wild birds to be seen nearby.

The entire experience was an absolute blast. The kindness of the staff - the peaceful location - the delicious food - the interesting history of the place- the wonderful antique furniture - the eccentric fellow travelers.... If you are after a different kind of vacation where you can both relax and have a few adventures this is it.

Beautiful accommodation and right next to a lovely beach with great and unpretentious Spanish restaurants... Excellent. As good as we had hoped and will go back with our children next year who will also love it!

It was amazing. Really the best one I've ever had. I loved the feel of the place and I felt really at home with out all the baggage of being at home (phone, computer, projects, piles of stuff...)

The blend of marvellous scenery, a fabulous place to stay and relax, and the hospitality of our hosts (including great food and great local advice on walking, parking points, activities etc).

Excellent - one of the best self-catering places we've stayed at. Would be very happy to go back there.

We could not have hoped for a better vacation. This was our first time in Sardinia, our first farm vacation, away from the beaten tracks. We spent a week and rested so much that we feel as if we've been away for months.

The village is set in an amazing location and has been restored sympathetically, maintaining its sense of age and history. The view from our balcony across to the surrounding hills, was spectacular.

Excellent - first big vacation with toddler, and she LOVED it! Very relaxing for us too... Lots of little things that had clearly been thought through to make your life as easy as possible.

The sheer beauty and peace of the landscape and the farm were most memorable... This place is best enjoyed as an opportunity to take time out and relax rather than as a base for lots of excursions. 10/10 - wonderful!

Our room was a good size, air con (we were there in August) and clean. The pool was just right too. Location is excellent - far better than being in one of the towns. Meals are eaten outside in the evenings and several (including us) suggested they modified the lighting.

Waking up in the morning, and stepping onto the balcony; from where the views were stunning was the most memorable part.

The peace and tranquillity were sublime. A lovely property with all the mod cons (even a coffee machine) however in wonderful rural surrounds. The garden of the property was a delight. The countryside of the Loire was beautiful, the village a short bike ride away.

Most memorable were the local festival, very cheap and safe horse riding 5 mins car ride form the hotel and gorgeous beach across the road from the hotel safe for children snorkling.

We have many wonderful memories from this vacation. Firstly the accommodation and the town of Capena itself. Such a beautiful, timeless place. We had a day of cooking at the apartment which was great fun.

The most memorable part of our trip was most likely the scenery we loved the mountains and woodlands. The next was the food as Nick is no doubt an excellent chef and Dasha a specialist with deserts.

The thing that worried me most about becoming a dad (bulging nappies aside), was the thought of kissing those exotic long-haul vacations goodbye in favour of a nice day out at the local country park and visiting the grandparents – “yours or mine this weekend?”. Struck by this worrying realisation that a life of day-trips and comfortable furry footwear awaited, I dragged my wife, who had done all her kicking and screaming for the year, and our two-month-old son Benjamin (who hadn’t), on a two-month, twenty thousand mile round-trip to Australia.
