I am reborn! Simply the best vacation I have ever been on
Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
The whole thing was amazing, being able to go out to parts of Svalbard that other ships can't get to was fantastic, and the wildlife that we saw there was the overall highlight.
Book directly with the operator (the actual company that runs the trip - rather than an agent) to ensure that you get the correct packing list, pick-up information, flights, etc.
Yes definitely, the operator are obviously very concerned with preserving the nature... (more)Renny Gye
All of it! The extremes of weather, the diversity of animals, the quality of the accommodation and facilities, and something you can't plan for - new found friends!
Don't set your heart on seeing anything specific. Be prepared for the changes in weather. It's not as challenging as I expected - to take account of the huge spectrum of ages and abilities. But most of all HAVE FUN!
Not so much the local people, though we did buy a lot... (more)Lisa Thomas
I loved every second of my trip - the people, the country, the bears I worked with... (more)Louise Bednarz
Meeting the bears and being able to really make a difference to their day-to-day lives with enrichment, feeding and cleaning; some of the things we were doing (such as enrichment to keep the bears active and happy) wouldn't get done unless we were there to help out! (more)Heather Reynolds
We were so close to the bears and keepers that you feel part of the project rather than just a short stay helper. I think we were really lucky... to have the baby bear (Lola) arrive when we were there too. (more)Anon
It did not have one single highlight -the entire trip was enjoyable. (more)Christine Singer
Seeing a brown bear was the highlight of the vacation but this was definitely the icing on the cake. The friendly people, wonderful mountain scenery, incredible views, amazing walks, butterflies, orchids and peace and quiet made the vacation memorable at all times.
The bear watching and having a close encounter with a white-tailed eagle. (more)Robert Bagley
Almost whole tour of ours was exciting as every mile / kilometer of our drive in FINLAND was mesmerizing and exciting. All the activities of sports was new and knowledgable for us. (more)Nehal Lekhadia
we had great time and would definitely go back....seeing the wolverine, bears and willow grouse (more)Mohni Gujral
Since this was my first trip on my own I felt very comfortable with the vacation providers as the owners were the people directly running the trip. They were always available to answer questions both before and during the trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for an exciting overland tour of Alaska (and Canada too!). (more)Julie Woods
This is the best vacation my partner and I have ever been lucky enough to have. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it exceeded our dreams. If anyone is thinking of seeing Alaska and considering camping, this would be the tour to choose. (more)John Cracknell
Difficult to pick one part as the whole trip was memorable. Alaska is such a scenic destination. Camping brings you closer to nature and the wild camping was in isolated, awe inspiring places. I particularly enjoyed the sea kayaking, around beautiful islands with sea otters everywhere. (more)David Conway
Seeing the bears in their natural habitat is fantastic. The operators are great and the food was wonderful. (more)Susan Shedda
The most exciting part of our vacation was viewing the (many) grizzly bears in a natural environment without any interference with nature. Specifically, it was thrilling to see several mothers with cubs! (more)Suzanne Wafer
Going on a walk with the conservationists up the various mountains and then trying out Greek drinks such as their coffee and "Mountain tea" that was made from local plants.
To know what the weather is when they go, so they can decide if they want to be there during hot weather or somewhat cooler.
Not directly us being on the trip, however the conservations as a whole are doing really good work preventing the death of bears while still... (more)Ruairi Benn
The wildlife, the scenery, the ice, basically all of it
Spend as much time on deck, you never know when you may see something, really take in every moment we are privelidged to be able to travel and see such wonders.
I am sure any form of tourism, brings money into the local economy, and as travelers we see the impacts and changes on our planet ,If we trully open our eyes and take it on board, then in any way we can and however small... (more)Paul Lee
From the moment we arrived in Churchill until we left!
We saw a polar bear being released from the holding facility and flown off back to the wild, mothers and cubs, young bears 'play-boxing, a large male bear falling through the thin ice and the Northern Lights.
All the staff were fantastic, particularly our wonderful free-spirited guide Leah Okin Magowan. It could not have been better!!
Go go go!
The local company have worked, and... (more)Liz Green
