I am reborn! Simply the best vacation I have ever been on
Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
Awesome, it has raised the bar for next year! (more)Tony Johnson
The whole thing was memorable! Our 6 year old and 4 year old leading "Leonidas" our donkey through the French Alps, sleeping in a beautiful yurt in an Alpine meadow, and feeling like we'd done something completely different to the typical "bucket and spade" type of vacation. (more)Alison Godfrey
The mountains, flora and fauna in an exceptionally beautiful and unspoilt part of the world, within and on the periphery of the Mercantour National Park in the French maritime Alps were most memorable. (more)Nick Lampert
The husky dog sledding, the ice climb, the snowshoeing itself, being out in such a beautiful environment! And our companions too - the other four people in the party were lovely, and we all got on very well together - enough in common to bond yet different enough for good conversation!
In terms of the most exciting part, it has to be the ice climbing...not part of our original plans but I'm so glad it was suggested. Slow down and enjoy your stay in what really is an undiscovered part of the Alps. (more)Norma Sherratt
Well organized, interesting, hassle free and great fun- the ideal introduction to the activities. (more)Matt Hannah
We cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back. (more)Conor Gately
The vacation was brilliant from start to finish, great communication from the owners of the lodge and such friendly and helpful people on arrival and throughout the stay. We would recommend this vacation to anybody who would like a quiet and relaxing stay and enjoy the use of the Eco-cabin. (more)Daniel Holden-Jones
Cycling at our own pace through stunning, varied countryside and finding places
that we would have missed in a car.
Be prepared for more than just undulating vineyards - there are some hills and
you should have a decent level of fitness. (However, we managed and are in our
more senior years!) The hire bikes were excellent, sturdy machines and there was
technical back-up if required. (Luckily not needed! )
Staying at comfortable,... (more)Neil Crawley
Very well organised and very enjoyable.... The scenery was beautiful, except in the Camargue, and all the villages were very French and full of atmosphere. Cycling through the Montagnettes and Alpilles was lovely. (more)Trish Price
Successfully navigating our way in and out of beautiful little towns being enthusiastically helped with directions and suggestions for great things to see and do by locals even with our absolute lack of French. (more)Jennifer Wright
Every activity was great - extremely challenging but with great guides who helped us all to succeed (more)Kathy Halliday
The activities were all superbly planned, organised and great fun. White water rafting was enjoyed by all of the family, the scenic mountain walk was enhanced by local species being pointed out for us and information on how the various rock formations occurred. (more)Mary Fretwell
I particularly loved our mountain walk, with spectacular views and carpets of Pyrenean irises, and I think one of the highlights for all of us was swimming in a beautiful mountain lake. (more)Trisha Cochrane

The views from the rooms are breath taking. The owners go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is as perfect as possible...A unique and restful experience which we hope to be able repeat one day. After only five nights we came home feeling recharged and with many fond memories. (more)Nick Medhurst
Best vacation ever... The tour of the old city of Nice and the trip to the village of Tourettes the St Jeannet winery and the cooking class with Corrine were truly memorable. (more)Vicki Wright
We stayed at the house for 4 nights with our teenage boys and we were so happy we did. Corinne and Benoit make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive...It was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in France! Benoit does great excursions so highly recommend you go on his tours too!
Five stars for getting the right amount of things done & rest. The countryside is
beautiful, the gite and courtyard were lovely, the hosts wonderful and the chateaux have to be seen at least once in a lifetime. (more)Ilinca Anghelescu
It was the perfect family vacation with a 15 month old. With 3 separate cottages all surrounding one courtyard, it provides the perfect place for a shared family vacation, but still giving you your own space to retreat to! (more)Becky Reid
Despite some inclement weather on a few days, it was one of the best vacations we
have ever had. We didn't want to leave.
We would love to get back in the near future. (more)Valerie Guihen
It is the best vacation weve had in France and that's from a perspective of over 40 years vacationing in France...The walking in the beautiful mountains in the Mercantour with snow, sun, isolation and good companions. Why did I reach 67 before finding this most beautiful place? (more)Tony Bell

Tres bien! Liz and Mel took good care of us and went above and beyond our expectations to ensure our vacation was great. Good value, too!
The variety of the walks and scenery - and loads of wildlife. Marmot, chamois, vultures, various birds. Level of challenge was set just right for the needs of the group...Great - would do it again! Really good value for money.
The most memorable part was exploring, mainly on foot, a 'new', relatively unknown but scenically stunning corner of France on the back of excellent, welcoming accommodation and hospitality. (more)Richard Gregory

The food throughout the stay, the choices of hikes (particularly the gorge and the mountain top), and the mix of people.
Be in shape! Be prepared for challenging walks.
We left no trace behind on our walks. Food was purchased locally. We visited local markets and went to two local restaurants.
This experience exceeded our expectations. We had great food, great guides, interesting and challenging walks and a very... (more)Ken Margraf
Just go for it - this is a company run by good people and it's a really nice set-up. Tremendous! (more)Richard Marriott
The local community did benefit as we ate locally produced/sourced food and wine and stopped for breaks in local cafes. The local community were, without exception, welcoming and friendly.
Most memorable was discovering the local history and wildlife under the care of our very knowledgeable hosts, plus lots of brilliant walks in the beautiful Pyrenean Mountains, plus the excellent food! (more)Caroline Rae
The young people Sam and Rachel achieved confidence respectively in snowboarding and downhill skiing in a small quiet resort at Ancelle for the first three days...Successful as a way of satisfying all ages and giving the family precious time to be on our own without the pressures of work and university.
The most memorable part was snow shoeing on a beautiful sunny Christmas Day and completing our first Via Ferrata.
Best bits: Walking up to and visiting the rock art in the Vallee des Merveilles, and the Fete du Pain in St Martin Vιsubie.
Excellent. We travelled with young family and would certainly stay again so cannot recommend it too highly. (more)ROSIE KELBRICK

Touring historic towns including Sarlat with our kids. Dinner time also great
fun with excellent meals.
Buy a more detailed map to cross reference with the info provided by the tour
which at times was incomplete or confusing. For example some of the images in the guidebook were poor quality and hard to read.
Overall rating?(more)Duane Koons

The scenery and the food.
You do need to be semi fit!
Local shops and cafes would have benefitted in the smaller, out of the way villages
4.5 stars. Only negative aspect was the hotel on the first and final night in Avignon, The Ibis, where the rooms were tiny, like being in a cabin and did make us worry about what was to follow! However, the other hotels were all fabulous but then we had to return to the Ibis... (more)Anne Morrice
Cycling up Mont Ventoux. Wow! Its tough, very tough, but worth the effort. Particularly nice to have a really fabulous hotel at the bottom to relax afterwards.
Do try to make the initial meeting with the local rep. We didn't and there were a few issues - for example some of our dinner arrangements - that it would have been better to iron out before they became issues. We were a bit disappointed that we weren't warned in advance that the meeting with the local... (more)Jane Frank

We really enjoyed the week in the Auvergne it is very unspoilt and it is an area
you can "get away from it all"....The area is ideal for walkers or most kinds of outdoor activities. There are lots of waymarked and signposted trails, that range from gentle woodland strolls to full mountain hikes. (more)Phil Smith
The quietness and natural beauty of Mont Dore in November was the most memorable part of the vacation (more)Mary Cherian

years...that's high praise indeed! Relaxed, easy to find something to enjoy in
stunning surroundings, with a friendly, quality service offered by attentive
