The most memorable part was to meet the friendly Burmese people in the street and talk with them. Shwedagon pagoda and Inle lake were highlights as well.

We couldn't have asked for a better base than this hotel, an impressive building, sympathetically modernised whilst still retaining its Spanish Farmhouse roots. A wonderfully calming and tranquil vacation rather than an "exciting" one. Should also mention the great hospitality shown by our hosts, delicious home cooked food and generous introductions to local wines and brandies! A lovely relaxing time.

There is so much to remember about this vacation; we really enjoyed the mixed scenery of forest, countryside and coastal, we loved being able to have an active vacation that the whole family (children & adults) enjoyed, the hospitality we received at Casa Dos Torres was excellent, and it was exciting discovering gorgeous tiny old Spanish villages, packed with charm and very yummy tapas.

Most memorable was our Shaman host at the jungle homestay. He glided around, playfully and skilfully making leaf hats etc and happily sharing with us his knowledge and Chechan philosophy. A wise man and free spirit in a beautiful place. (more)
There were lots of memorable moments:- from lovely walks, beautiful surroundings of the hotel, really lovely owners, Ilaria and Derek, who couldn't have been more helpful, beautiful starry night sky and lots of different types of wild birds to be seen nearby.

The highlight for me was definitely the snorkeling, especially when there were sea lions about. I never thought I would be so enthusiastic about swimming with sharks! (more)It's hard to say what the most memorable thing was but one memory that stands out is being served an absolutely delicious breakfast every day at a table with a perfect white table cloth surrounded by flowers, friendly hens and kittens - all right on the edge of a stunning beach!
