It's hard to say what the most memorable thing was but one memory that stands out is being served an absolutely delicious breakfast every day at a table with a perfect white table cloth surrounded by flowers, friendly hens and kittens - all right on the edge of a stunning beach!
(more)The vacation was full of memorable experiences from our first day when we met our fantastic driver/guide, Kapila. He seemed to really enjoy sharing his knowledge of the history, culture, flora and fauna of Sri Lanka. He was also really good fun and so caring about our enjoyment and welfare - he became a real friend and we will keep in touch. (more)
Thanda Game reserve has to be the most memorable although it was hard to pick a specific part of it. It was fantastic and we couldn't have been treated better or had a more pleasant experience ... we will be back. (more)Istanbul was a great place to stay, with so much to do. (more)It is difficult to choose a most memorable part as this is the best vacation we've ever had, but I think that the three days in the Estancia in the wetlands were the most memorable. Arriving in a Cessna was very exciting, the hotel and people there are just faultless. (more)Everywhere we looked there were birds: on the water's edge, in the air, perched in trees. Crocodiles slipped into the water and there were pods of hippos, plus giraffes, elephants, buffalo and impala.

We spend a great two weeks at the retreat. Porridge (the manager) and his staff make anything possible and are very nice to be with. A very friendly atmosphere at the accommodation as well as in the village. Beautiful garden around the accommodation and a great beach below.
