I am reborn! Simply the best vacation I have ever been on
Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
There were endless memorable moments: tramping along the Soderlandsleden very well-waymarked trail, through the woods; exploring the islands at Stendorren and Savo; seeing creatures we hadn't see before, such as a slow worm, an otter, a white-tailed sea eagle... (more)Bronwen Davies
We were impressed with the beauty of Sweden and how easy it was to travel around. (more)Sharon Reardon
Excellent. No complaints at all and would definitely do it again. Credit should be given to Carmen Hamdi who left nothing to chance and organised our stay with extreme professionalism. (more)Andrew and Sharon Venables
Experiencing rural Tuscany, in particular Buti and Calci.
Some parts of the walk are quite steep, be prepared for some scrambling!
Highly enjoyable. (more)Carol Quinn
Our experience with Responsible Travel was A++ and we would look first to them when considering other travel whether foreign or domestic. (more)Nancy Barnacle
Highlights included - the walk on Mljet in the national park up to the top, with stunning views out over lakes, hills and the Adriatic; the best tuna steak ever from the small restaurant in Lapad...the list goes on!
A fantastic choice which we thoroughly enjoyed, with good walks and excellent sandy beach swimming. (more)Tara Fenwick
Fantastic! It was everything we hoped, and more. Our daughters are 13 and 11 years old, and we had a great time on our first family walking vacation. (more)Paul Arkle
This was a very well organised vacation, all of its aspects were effective and co-ordinated. In fact a thoroughly enjoyable week. (more)Nicholas Yates
The most memorable part was the whole hiking tour all together, being able to accomplish it as a family, experiencing the local hospitality and unbelievably splendid nature! We΄ve had the time of our lives! Found our paradise at Lake Como, and will return, for sure! (more)Jeanette Reinholdtsen
The walks were the most memorable - Ravello / Maiori to Minori / Path go Gods. Excellent! (more)Liora Haymann
This was one of the most scenic vacations we have taken. If you love sea views and picturesque coastlines, quiet walks through hillsides & valleys, wonderful
Italian food at the end of a day of hiking, you will love this trip. (more)Danielle Smith
Absolutely fantastic! Do it if you get the opportunity. You'll come home rejuvenated: the magnificent landscapes and foods as well as the daily exercise really are magic for the body and the mind. (more)Nadine Kadri
Walking village to village, self guided, is an adventure! (more)Carol Jones
Discovering an entirely new area of spectacular mountain scenery, scenic mountain villages, traditional rural practices and historic sites - and above all, the sunshine and perfect peace! (more)Anne Jones
We have been on many walks throughout the world, however this is only our second self guided walk, but we thought it was particularly special. When you look at a map you realise that you are not that far from the plains of Bergamo and Milan, but from day 1 you step into a different world of peaceful landscapes, beautiful local villages (more)Alan Peggie
It was a fantastic vacation. I found the walks breath taking and deeply rewarding in terms of the amazing scenery and routes.
Walking was fabulous and the appetite for good local fare was a perfect, beer in hand, table spread for an evening meal to end our day...we were very well guided. (more)Hazell Penn
Superb!...Instantly relaxing as Erik met us and all organisation was taken care off. He is so friendly, relaxed and reliable that you immediately relax and enjoy the vacation. (more)Sally James
Brilliant vacation and would definitely return to complete the rest of the walks.
The whole experience of being in such a wonderful place to walk, with varying and spectacular views daily. Very peaceful (more)pauline hamilton
Most memorable was the lovely walks and the lovely weather. We enjoyed the house where we lived - As Tunel - spacious for 2 people. (more)Jenny Dunlop
During the course of the week one cannot fail to be impressed by the sights seen on the Thames Path, sadly the planned programme didn't allow time to visit these places.
To make sure that the daily walks are within their capabilities, even though the paths are on the level. The Thames path is well maintained but it was noticeable as you approached London, through London and to the east that a number of the signs had been vandalised/pointing in the wrong direction.... (more)Graham Stenger
Grazalema was an excellent centre for experiencing the wonderful walking, views, fauna and flora of this stunning reserve. The village itself was delightful and we were made to feel most welcome. (more)John and Meg Tyler
The walking is very well described and on relatively easy paths/ tracks so that we were walking a grade above that we had expected with no real difficulties. Dave and Gill are very helpful in providing other walks if you want something easier/ more difficult. (more)Iain Murray
We especially enjoyed the last day when we walked in sunshine under clear blue skies high into the hills & had wonderful views to even higher hills, some with snow on them.
We really enjoyed the walks and being away from any crowds. Brilliant scenery.
Go for the better class accommodation. Three of the hotels we stayed in were only just alright but the other three were very good.
The economy is certainly supported by tourism.
We had a wonderful time.
We were bowled over by the unspoilt Romanian countryside. No tractors or combined harvesters, just people creating hay stacks using pitch forks, horses
and wooden carts being used for transport and horses dragging logs down from the forest. Each place we stayed was interesting in its own right and visits to
the Black church in Brasov and Bran Castle added to the vacation.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, we didn't see any bears on the walk. We found out that... (more)Liz McCarthy
A truly special experience in a little corner of the Mercantour where time seems to have stood still. We went with the flow of life at the pace of an ambling
donkey. Every detail of the trip was well thought out, and the route guidance booklet (which we carried with us all the time) was spot on. The range of
different landscapes we walked through surprised and delighted us. The effectiveness of the route marking was also great. The vacation providers team was hugely... (more)Carolyne Mason
The personal challenge of completing the hikes myself, the isolated walks in a rugged yet serene environment, arriving at key sites all tired, hot and sweaty whilst other tourists were in pristine condition (must be those air conditioned vehicles), the locals friendliness and hospitality, the local cuisine (the wines are must-have) and of course picturesque Santorini itself with its churches and caldera. Ooops, I just couldn't choose one!
A few things to consider:
1.... (more)Neena Kumar
If you like trekking, this is a fantastic peaceful environment for it. (more)Emmanuelle Clement
This was a return visit to India, although our last one was in 1987. It was great to see how positive, go-ahead and prosperous the country has become, without losing the colour, the culture and the mysticism that makes it India. (more)Pete Belsey
It was a heavenly walking experience. A feast for the senses and easy on the feet! (more)Rosemary Cunniffe
Absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed every moment of it and will treasure all the memories we have been getting. We are already discussing when we can come back and do other trails along the coast. (more)Inger Westerlund
Wonderful vacation! More Canadians (North Americans) should know about Portugal and its walking tours. (more)Jeffrey Fish
Dramatic cliff top scenery with rare aromatic plants growing in the sandy soil round the paths. Watching surfers in the beautiful bays and fishermen perched precariously on the cliffs. Unspoiled countryside and forests inland. The fantastic non-light polluted night sky at one of the places we stayed; we saw the milky way and a shooting star. The warmth of the local people. Other walkers we met en route from many different countries. Very good locally produced food.
Meals... (more)Denise Anne
The wonderful circuit hike from Soller to Port Soller that was recommended by our hosts Matt and Nina at Casa Bougainvillea. The walk was one we could do over and over again......Excellent---one of the best we have ever done. (more)B. E. Layton
Great trip. Varied walks, good accommodation, and excellent weather! (more)Ann Nelson
Beautiful countryside, and excellent walking. (more)Tony Stephens
The walk from Newgale to Solva along coastal path with clear blue sky.
Make sure other local points of interest are visited e.g. St David's Cathedral and Bishops Palace.
We had meals in local PH and purchased items locally - so yes.
Overall enjoyable. (more)Jim Skinner
The coastal path (Dover - Sandwich in our package) offers spectacular views of sea and countryside, whatever the weather, and serves up little gems of both recent and ancient history along the way. (more)David haljan
Very good vacation, hope to return and do more. (more)Bill Ashby
