I am reborn! Simply the best vacation I have ever been on
Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
The hikes - they were breathtaking! Beautiful scenery and waterfalls. It was fantastic - one of the best vacations I've ever been on! (more)Molly Hooper
Our most memorable moments was the visit to Jose-Marie's farm, where he enthusiastically showed us round, cooked us some delicious food, made cheese, milked (tried anyway) goats, a truly delightful and enthusiastic gentleman. Second was swimming with the fish in the outdoor swimming pool with the beautiful sunlit mountains in the background with goat bells quietly tinkling nearby... (more)Emma Jackson
The kindness and dedication of our guest house!!! If you want to enjoy nature in a beautiful rural hotel that is the place to be! Excellent trip. (more)Cristina Piccolo
There were endless memorable moments: tramping along the Soderlandsleden very well-waymarked trail, through the woods; exploring the islands at Stendorren and Savo; seeing creatures we hadn't see before, such as a slow worm, an otter, a white-tailed sea eagle... (more)Bronwen Davies
We were impressed with the beauty of Sweden and how easy it was to travel around. (more)Sharon Reardon
Excellent. No complaints at all and would definitely do it again. Credit should be given to Carmen Hamdi who left nothing to chance and organised our stay with extreme professionalism. (more)Andrew and Sharon Venables
There were many memorable experiences - our rickshaw ride through the Dehli markets was definitely a highlight....what a culture shock! The noise, smells, heat and totally manic traffic dodging around cows in the streets is imprinted on the memory. Seeing the rural life in Rajasthan was amazing - how the locals live in their mud houses, working on the land by hand, and how friendly the people were to us. Staying in a Maharaja's palace was an experience. Seeing the Taj... (more)Janine Jackson
The itinerary planned by our operator worked out beautifully for my family of 8. A couple of the guides, especially Johnnie in Beijing and Susan in chengdu engaged with the children and helped make our time in those cities very
enjoyable. we loved that logistics were taken care of by our guides n drivers. The children loved the ice skating, the time at the Great Wall, learning to cook their own dishes, spending Christmas day at the panda research center, biking in town... (more)Kristin Baker
Staying in a welcoming and comfortable hotel in a beautiful part of Spain, with delightful hosts, and masses of available activities.
Stay at here, it's great.
Yes, all of the above. We booked several activities with local companies and ate in local restaurants. We were able to travel extensively by bike rather than car.
Excellent. We have all returned fit, healthy and happy. (more)Mary Anne Roffs
Walking in the hills in North Vetnam, really connected with the people off the tourist trails. Stunning.
Be prepared for simple accommodation and reasonably hard walking. Although not very long walks, about 15km in a day it can get quite hot and hilly. Wish I was fitter.
Yes, staying with families and local businesses is very important to the development of the tourist industry. Always ate in small restaurants.
Very... (more)Angela Reid
The punctuality and friendliness of all the operators was extraordinary. There was not a bad word to say about any of them. (more)Roderick Stevens
There were lots of highlights but we particularly enjoyed seeing the elephants swimming across the river and also releasing turtle hatchlings back into the sea. We also loved Abai jungle lodge. Beautiful scenery and wonderful staff. (more)Andrea Gauntlett
Great. Would definitely now consider another cycling vacation with this company. We enjoyed the experience of cycling through the countryside and to the beach then stopping off for lunch and a beer. We saw so many lovely places. (more)patricia houston
We all enjoyed it immensely...I think seeing the first medieval village and cycling through the deep countryside were the most satisfying experiences. For others it might have been stopping for the first beer at a village cafι. Or the fantastic burger and chips in Ripli when we were all tired and hungry. (more)John Lowdon
Very good..Cycling through the countryside and to and from the beach. Also the food was fantastic. (more)Wendy McCaffer
The most memorable moment was spontaneously being invited into a home to listen in on a jam session with the resident and their guests. We were walking around the streets of Havana taking in the street scene and heard music coming out of a home. We peeked inside the house and were extended a warm invitation to come in and enjoy the music, rum and the fried plantains all without any expectation of any kind from our hosts. (more)Gautam Biswas
The best part was Havana. Everything about Havana, the tour in the old American car was great but we loved just wondering around. (more)Jo McKeown
Best bits: Too many to count! The caves near Vinales, the convertible tour of Havana, the gorgeous white sand beaches, and the wonderful host families! (more)Rachel Levy
The most exciting part of the trip was snowmobiling! What a fantastic day. The tour was informal, fun and adventurous. What more can you ask for. The setting couldn't have been better. (more)Sarah Chandler
The location is wonderful and the kids loved the snow (more)Paul Freeman
Excellent....We loved all of it - the food, accommodation, tour guides and the northern lights were spectacular. The trip was very well organised and everything came together nicely. We travel a lot and this trip did not disappoint. (more)Penny Salmon
All of it! We all had our personal highlights though. Hannah (11) loved swimming in the Dead Sea, Ciaran (15) loved climbing, the cycle ride and the history in Jerash, Little Petra and Petra, Luke (51) loved the camel journey, Jo (50) loved sitting round the fire with the Bedouins and trading gifts and tea with the Bedouin women in their tents.
Be flexible, open minded and be up for the challenge!
Yes, we came away feeling that the... (more)Jo Tunmer
Wonderful vacation for active people who love nature and do not like tourist traps. (more)Dorine van der Vloodt
The most memorable part of the vacation was the 30k mountain bike ride that took in parts of the local scenery that would have remained unseen without the guidance and assistance of our host. (more)Mark Burberry
There are so many great memories of the vacation, that will live long in the memory. In no particular order: The smile on the face of my daughter as the helped wash an elephant in the river, the scenery around Munnar was beautiful,
the homestay at Dewalokam was just great - jumping and swimming in the river... (more)Philip Hesketh
An amazing, unforgettable experience allowing us to see the natural side of Kerala and keep us constantly entertained. (more)Rachel Gatehouse
A brilliant first time experience of India for a family. Safe but still experiencing the full life of India. (more)Sarah Griffin
Wonderful. Traveling in a small group as a family with such a dedicated guide allowed us to see more & interact more. We were able to eat at small road side cafes and at the Phetchaburi night market, and wander around the Sangklaburi floating houses (more)Simon Daniels
We all have different highlights, but generally agree that the day we had a boat trip down the Maekok river, followed by an elephant ride where we got to ride the elephants like a mahout and then spent a night in an Akha village, was our most memorable day. (more)Taru Jones
Most memorable was walking in the rainforest following local guide in his shower cap and Wellingtons and meeting the jungle dwelling Sakai, and swimming in pool at top of huge and remote waterfall. (more)Jane Giles
Far too many to mention personally - running the Helsinki Marathon (fantastic scenic route!) at the end of the trip was a personal highlight but aside from this I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of northern Finland and great accommodation
throughout the trip. My 4 year old son enjoyed it all too but his favourites were the Angry Birds Kids Theme Park, Husky Sledding, meeting Santa Claus, feeding reindeers, running the Helsinki Mini Marathon for kids, riding the trams... (more)Richard Mayneord
Thailand is such a big country and we feel that this vacation allowed us to experience quite a lot of it. We travelled with our two children (11,14) who absolutely loved the vacation and were so well looked by the Thai people. (more)Kirstie Fraser
Amazing vacation. Such a great experience filled with memories that are sure to last a lifetime! (more)Sumi Mazzarolo
We had the most amazing vacation and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the "local" experiences we had, from giving alms to the monks to riding through rice fields on bikes. We really enjoyed meeting real Thai people and seeing different sides to Thailand. (more)Rayner McKenzie
There were many memorable bits. Watching the turtles return to sea while the sun was rising, sledging down the dunes with my children, swimming in the Wadi's. Not sure I can choose only one.
Don't try and squeeze too much into it. There are some lovely hotels and locations but we often found ourselves arriving just at or after sunset and leaving early the next morning.
We were aware of the conservation side of things but not really... (more)Jane Skinner
It was all great. Temples in Bagan, boat ride and views over Lake Inle.
Much of Myanmar great for family traveling. Comfortable hotels, great food. Warm welcome. Train from Yangon to Bagan bumpy but really fun!
Yes. But would value more information particularly with regard to hotels.
Brilliant. Guides and our agent were really very very good. Logistics perfect.
It is hard to pick out one thing but it would include staying in the jungle in a treehouse, visiting some amazing temples, eating street food in an evening market before catching the sleeper train, treking in the jungles, canoeing down the river Kwai and the awesome beach on Koh Lanta.
Take lots of Deet and diahorra tablets and travel as light as you can. Book an extra day at the beach at the end because you will need a good rest before the long flight home... (more)Shefda Cattermoul
Do it. It was the best experience for us all including our 5 and 8 year olds. (more)Debbie Sermon
Amazing, could not have been better....We loved every second of our vacation, but the things that most stand out are our Safari at Tanda Tula, the beauty of Plettenberg Bay and the amazing people at Kanonkop House in Knysna. (more)Laura Beccaria
To quote my son, when asked the same question... I liked all of it!!
However, if I have to chose particular moments... Getting a feel for the rhythm of village life on a glorious spring morning in Biertan, taking an evening stroll alongside the locals in Brasov and making it to the top of the 1426 steps (my younger son counted!) to see the view from Poienari Citadel.
We went to Romania in Spring and I would recommend going there at Easter (which is a little... (more)Jo Murray
It was one of the best vacations I spent with my family, truly relaxing. We all feel re-energised, taken care of. (more)Sarah Ghiglino
A very enjoyable vacation particularly for the children who have not stopped talking about it yet... Taking part in the bushcraft activity and watching our grandchildren as they tried wild foods and made fire. The enthusiasm with which they approached every new challenge and the knowledge that they gained is priceless.
I loved it! It helped the environment and taught you a lot about the area and animals around you. We were kept entertained and had a really fun time - I will always remember this vacation. (more)saskia robinson
Being up in a hot air balloon at sunrise over the river Nile floating over the Valley of the Kings. Quiet, magical and some wonderful views.
Take a little bit of time to read up on Egypt before - you will get more out of the trip.
Yes it benefitted local people. The people in the places that we visited desperately need more people to come and visit.
As good and as memorable as any place that we've been to.
This... (more)Kulbir Natt
Loved hotels Tamu and Sala Lodge and also our Ankwor Wat guide.
Do not snorkel unless far out to sea at an island. Don't go to Sihouknaville
Local guide and drivers only
