The game drives. Our whole point in going to Africa was seeing wildlife close up, and it was abundant. Both the Porini Camps on their private conservancies, and the Masai Mara National Preserve offered spectacular game viewing. We couldn't have asked for more.

Thanda Game reserve has to be the most memorable although it was hard to pick a specific part of it. It was fantastic and we couldn't have been treated better or had a more pleasant experience ... we will be back. (more)
The most amazing vacation I have ever had. Like staying in 5* hotels but only better. Can't wait to go back...Most memorable was having elephants feed right outside our camp, visiting a traditional Maasai Village and watching a lion chase a Zebra on a night drive. (more)The best way to see the Wild life in Eastern Africa and the best way to go on Safari. If trekking was possible through the Masai Mara this would have been the only better way to see these amazing animals. For obvious reasons trekking is not possible and going in a car is the second best option. (more)The trip surpassed our expectations tenfold. The most memorable part of the vacation was the private walks with the Masaai and night drives in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy where we saw lions hunting & mating, a leopard on a stroll, porcupines, springhares, hyenas, etc. (more)
Every day had a new highlight - camping in the Serengeti and hearing lions prowling around the site in the early hours, being invited into an elderly woman’s house in the Usambara mountains, snorkelling in the Indian Ocean (more)
Everywhere we looked there were birds: on the water's edge, in the air, perched in trees. Crocodiles slipped into the water and there were pods of hippos, plus giraffes, elephants, buffalo and impala.
(more)Our children (13 and 15) got as much out of meeting the local people in towns and villages as they did from seeing the vast array of wildlife. Now they realise you really can make do on a minimum of possessions and things can be fixed (in very inventive ways), not thrown away when they break; a life changing experience for them.

I would rate my vacation as one of my life’s greatest adventures. It exceeded any and all expectations... My guide Julius was just fantastic. I was able to view so many great wildlife encounters due to the skill and expertise of Julius. The most exciting was the gorge swing & white river rafting in Victoria Falls as well as the night game drives following lions stalking prey in the Okavango. (more)Having an elephant peer through the door of our banda was quite a surprise, but my favourite part was meeting lots of locals and learning bits of Swahili and tribal dialect...Tempted to give it five stars! Its 5.45am in South Luangwa National Park. In the copper-grey half dawn we gather around a still smouldering camp fire and prepare for the ultimate bush experience – a walking safari in which we can expect to track and see South Luangwa’s heavy brigade of elephant, buffalo, hippo and possibly even lion. Without a qualified guide to escort us we’d not be troubling the caterers for lunch. Ten years ago 80% of safari guides in the valley were white.
