On leaving our room at Serendip which led out straight onto the front veranda... we saw that the garden was full of fireflies. We were then led to our table out the back by the plunge pool where we would be eating dinner. The manager had arranged and lit dozens of tea lights around the garden. Priceless.
(more)Most memorable? Diving with a dozen turtles off the coast of Sipadan and visiting the local villagers of Mabul. And then of course to see wild Orangutans in their natural environment. (more)
The accommodation was the most luxurious, most welcoming, most helpful place we have ever stayed in; and the walks through the tea estate with idyllic views of the reservoir and surrounding hills, both relaxing and inspiring.

Madagascar proved such an outstanding destination that it almost seems unfair to single out particular highlights...Ace. We loved it from first to last. We covered a great deal of ground and saw so much for the first time.
(more)Amazing. Our guide / driver is a saint! No question was too stupid. No loo stop was inconvenient. He took such good care of us, and made us feel like valued friends instead of tourists. I will never forget Kenya and will go back as soon as I can. Difficult to pick one highlight. The boat trips at Tortegua where we saw an
osprey, an otter who played alongside the boat. A very angry caiman coming to
protect her youngster. The resplendent Quetzel in the cloud forest is unbelievable. Looking at the frogs in a night hike in the rainforest and also finding a feu de lance. (more)

The people were friendly and welcoming. It's a surprising land of contrasts. (more)The Koh Sok National Park trip with the kayaking company was truly amazing. Climbed a waterfall, saw a wild baby elephant and heard the singing gibbons. Lived like the locals and ate plenty of wholesome Thai food. No frills but no illnesses either! (more)Most memorable part?
