Beautiful accommodation and right next to a lovely beach with great and unpretentious Spanish restaurants... Excellent. As good as we had hoped and will go back with our children next year who will also love it!
(more)On leaving our room at Serendip which led out straight onto the front veranda... we saw that the garden was full of fireflies. We were then led to our table out the back by the plunge pool where we would be eating dinner. The manager had arranged and lit dozens of tea lights around the garden. Priceless.

So many different experiences and so many wonderful people. Climbing Mt Batur at 4am to see the sun rise was a major highlight and swimming in the cool clear waterfall in Lombok. Tochni was one of the most beautiful villages in the area. It suited us because it was very quiet. Renovating old buildings provides an immediate atmosphere to the vacation and is much better than staying in a new apartment. (more)
Walking on a completely empty long golden beach, watching the monsoon rains from our windows and kayaking in the mangrove swamp and watching the monkeys were the highlights. (more)
The campfires on the beach which were lit when anyone was leaving after a week's stay. The fabulous staff played traditional drums and we watched shooting stars, under the stars, whilst dancing and singing. (more)

Traveling in a dug out canoe on the river between The Gambia and Senegal amongst the mangroves and seeing so much bird life was the most exciting part. (more)

This was the perfect place for us to stay and we have been made really welcome, almost like a homestay but with our own bungalow and separate meals.

This accommodation is a visually beautiful Portuguese villa, traditionally furnished in Portuguese style with enormous, high-ceilinged rooms in lush, well-kept gardens.
