As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
The area is not densely populated, with extensive countryside and non-cultivated areas with wild shrubs and maquis. For this reason it is suitable not only for the beach but also for beautiful walks in the open air. We propose the mountain bike instead of the car for short trips in the countryside, respecting the environment!
In this area you can still find species of wildlife such as arboreal froglets, geckos, birds and small prey, hedgehogs, etc. (sometimes guests in the garden!)
We protect our wildlife and promote its respect, and try to find ecological ways of managing our eco system. To combat mosquitoes and other pests, we have 2 small ponds with goldfish that play a good eating action against larvae of mosquitoes!
We also encourage the respect of sea and sea wildlife in all its form, inviting guests not to damage the reefs and not to collect marine animals, sea urchins, starfish, etc.
We have recycling facilities on site and encourage the correct separation of waste (paper, glass, plastic, organic, etc) for a more effective recycling of materials.
Our pool has a salt-based purification system, so water is slightly salty and without chlorine (and it is not dangerous for environment)
People
We offer free maps of the area, which highlight local businesses, and the main shops and restaurants of this little town. We also encourage our guests to check out the tourist services in the area (hiking, boat or ferry tours, canoe rentals, etc.) all run by local people, in addition to guided tours to the Asinara island nature reserve, the archipelago of La Maddalena, or of Neptune Caves of Alghero. We know the area very well and are available to provide information on monuments, historical and archaeological sites, churches, tourist attractions of this area. We can provide also information about a going further afield on a trip to northern Sardinia.
We always advertise local handicrafts, mainly composed of woven baskets and artifacts, as well as promote the purchase of products typical of Sardinia, such as towels and embroidered textiles and carpets, ceramics, traditional spirits (such as myrtle) and food products such as fresh pasta , sweets, cheese.
Often we provide small gifts of traditional products as "gift" to our guests, helping to support local producers and encourage our guests to explore more of what the local area has to offer.
We also propose our own local restaurant recommendations, "agriturism" and shops with local products, festivals and food and wine tours that allow tourists to discover new flavors and above all healthy and organic products.
