Since purchasing the Lodge, we are striving to continuously update and make our property as green as possible. For cleaning purposes we use environmentally friendly cleaning products, and housekeeping will not take towels that are kept hanging in your room. There is no recycling program up in the mountains, so we do our part by recycling internally, so please ask a staff member, or leave the recycling separate in your lodging accommodations for proper disposal.

We have been updating our infrastructure and internal systems to be more energy efficient, and provide our own water and waste water treatment facility onsite. Our future goal for the property is to be completely off-grid producing our own electric through solar and wind.

Since our mudslide in September 2013, we have been using rocks found on property to build up and landscape the land. We have used the trees that came down the slide area to reinforce and rebuild our roads and areas that washed out during the heavy rains.

We have several resident elk, bears and other wildlife on property. All garbage is disposed in a bear-proof container, and we ask all guests to please pick up after themselves and keep all food out of their cars during their stay. We also ask that while observing the wildlife it is important to keep at a safe distance.

We understand to make the community grow, you must support the community internally. With that said, our restaurant uses locally sourced produce and meats. We recycle our grease, which is then turned into biodiesel fuel for the surrounding communities.

To better enjoy your stay, there are several other activities within Estes Park we can refer you to, such as golfing, activity parks, white water rafting, jeep tours, guided fishing trips, a historical theater, weekend events and other family owned restaurants. There are several great hiking trails around the area outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park, such as Wild Basin near the Allenspark area.

As our property and funding grow, so does our promise to the community. We source many of our staff members from the Estes Park and Allenspark area, and are an equal opportunity employer. For seasonal positions we do outsource some positions to international students, giving them the opportunity to enjoy and experience the Rocky Mountains and a different way of life. It is such a beautiful space and a one-of-a-kind opportunity we wish to share.
