Unusual rural accommodation in Sardinia

The village is surrounded by seven hectares of Mediterranean flora, which includes an organic vineyard, an olive grove, a vegetable garden, a synergic garden and a pond. The natural environment has been left almost intact, in order to preserve the natural development of local fauna and flora.

In order to avoid waste of materials, the dwellings restoration project was carried out by following traditional and local culture, by employing almost exclusively on-site recovered materials and by using environmental sustainable building techniques.

It is noteworthy that the lighting system works exclusively with energy-saving bulbs.

When guests come to the premises, they are warned about how to avoid wasting energy and water and how to diminish their trash, within the village and in the surrounding territory. The trash has to be divided for recycling.

There are no sewers, in the village, they have been replaced by a constructed wetland, which avoids pollution.

A bike sharing service is available for all customers to help people explore the area in as low carbon a way as possible. We provide our guests with guidelines on how to make their stay with us as sustainable as possible.

People

The reconstruction of this old village is an attempt to revive a thousands year old Sardinian tradition with its ancient craft and food traditions. All the dwellings furniture, dishes, linens and finishes are handmade by artisans from all over Sardinia.

The village offers only organic and fair trade food and, when it is possible, local/seasonal food, paying particular attention to celiac, vegan and vegetarian food. This helps to support local producers and rural communities.

In the village it is severely forbidden to smoke and to use electronic devices (smartphone, tablet and pc) in the common areas. Limited use inside the dwellings will be appreciated. All in harmony with nature and the peace of each individual user.

In order to promote the surroundings, with beautiful natural attractions, from the mountains to the countryside to the sea, we organize excursions and guided tours (using local guides) to Sardinian archaeological sites and natural parks and we propose activities and services at the neighboring equipped centers thus supporting local businesses.
