1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Seeing Machu Picchu for the first time from the sun gate on the 1 day Inca trail walking tour. Crossing the salt flats and altiplano in the 4x4 vehicles. Both were incredible! And the guides that we had for both were excellent, providing great commentary.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Really prepare for the cold during the nights on the salt flats in Bolivia. It got down to -15 degrees Celsius. Embrace the adventure! Walking part of the Inca trail was hard, but the reward of seeing it at the end made it all worthwhile. Be prepared for the altitude - everyone in our group had problems like headaches or feeling sick, i didn't take any medication for that with me, but was able to buy Soroche tables from a local pharmacy and felt better within 15 mins of taking them

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, definitely! Especially when visiting the islands on lake titicaca

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A wonderful experience - even better than i had imagined/hoped for!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

I loved every minute of my tour, but seeing Machu Picchu with your own eyes takes some beating, I have been to 5 of the seven wonders of the world now, and Mach Picchu is the best. Got the Great wall and Petra left to do

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Don't be put off by any negative reviews you read pre-booking, as its impossible to please everyone and remember its an adventure vacation which is the crux of it

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes to all of the above, places like Cusco, Puno etc must benefit massively through tourism, giving people jobs in the travel industry and selling local merchandise and foods to tourists, Tours through Peru, Bolivia and Chile are done in a very environmentally friendly way with minimal impact on the surroundings and landscapes. If Machu Picchu was in America it would be surrounded by high rise hotels and entertainment centres. But in South America the environment is the priority which is the way it should be in my opinoin

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Its a 10 out of 10 from me. I found the whole tour from start to finish completely professionally run and the organisation of it all first class. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and never came across as if they were going through the motions and reading from a script. You are never going to please everyone totally, but the emphasis is on 'an adventure vacation' and for me it completely fulfilled my adventure ambition
