1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

They created a 10 day trip going from the South west to the North east, driving through the center and all of it was fabulous. (We had been to Iceland once before so we had no desire to spend time again in the Golden Circle area. ) River rafting with Bakkaflot through some 4+ rapids was so exciting of course and the Puffins in Bakkagerdi were just amazing. So many and the site allows you to be so close to their nesting area. We were also fortunate to see the whales in Hauganes

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

We had hiking poles along and used them on many of our hikes. Of course Iceland is all about layers and we did end up using our rain pants. We also brought along "energy bars" for snacks and often ate them either on the trail or while driving. The selection of picnic food in the local markets is so so and expensive but we were easily able to buy cheese and bread. We were lucky in the Myvatyn area as the gnats weren't very plentiful but if you have a mosquito face net bring it just in case. The Dacia 4 wheel drive Duster was a great vehicle for the interior and its such a popular rental we were part of the "Duster brigade".

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Tourism is back full force now in Iceland but the country has it together reminding their visitors to take care of the environment by sticking to the trails. We were pleased to see the progress in the growth of their forests since our previous visit and this company contributes to tree planting.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

One of the best- Many thanks to Jean-marc Plessy

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We visited Iceland for the 2016 summer half-term week with all our family. There were eight of us, from three generations. So the most memorable part of this trip was all of us being together in such an inspiring outdoor environment. In particular our grandchildren loved it. Each of us had favorites within this vacation. Most popular was visiting the ice cave near Myvatn, closely followed by dramatic whale-watching (at least 14 whales) from Husavik, and the Detifoss waterfall despite it being hard to reach because of the snow. We also enjoyed the Snaefellsjokull, Myvatn nature baths, hot springs and a midnight walk round a volcano crater.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

See more than one part of Iceland as they can be quite different - and try to escape the regular tourist trail. Hire a car.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Iceland is becoming a major tourist destination, convenient for both North America and Europe, and there are many tourists from Asia. At present it is tourism that is benefiting the local people, but taken to excess, in the longer term, it could lead to undesirable environmental impacts.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We had a brilliant time, well organised by the vacation provider.
