1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Watching the river crossing of wildebeest in Tanzania

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Look closely at the itinerary as locals donít always follow what is on the itinerary. Be prepared for jeeps to break or sails and air conditioning to also break.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Not really. Only in Madagascar we received a card saying the agency was supporting a local charity.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Amiee Hasson our travel agent was really great! She followed through to her best ability.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Very difficult to say. Spotting lemurs in the forest is certainly memorable but is that any better than the unique rock formations of the Grand Tsingy or the sheer pleasure of watching country life as you drive between reserves? The whole fortnight was memorable.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be prepared to start early in the morning when the lemurs are more active. We did so and saw much more than some other groups in our hotels who set off later and came back disappointed. You need a reasonable level of fitness. Be prepared for some moderate hiking- nothing extreme but walking boots are essential. Also you need to squeeze through some narrow gaps in the Grand Tsingy, where in places you also need to be clipped onto safety wires during some ascents/descents.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, the proceeds from some of the reserves go back into the community to help fund schools. The gives the local communities buy-in into the benefits of tourism.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Top class. Well organised itinerary; high quality drivers and guides; hotels and food were better than we expected. I feel a bit mean giving it only 4 stars (4.5 stars is a better evaluation) but it has tough competition from other wonderful vacations in the past so I can't declare it the best ever.
