1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

I think it's fair to say most of it. We had a demanding specification and the tour operator exceeded our expectations in all cases.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Always leave the first day free as a buffer to accommodate flight disruption or lost luggage. Do not take US$ to Mexico, they are not widely accepted. Pack 3 days clothes and essentials in your cabin luggage.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. It certainly benefitted local people as we had local guides and stayed in independent hotels. We were visiting ancient ruins so I can't say that the vacation had a positive impact upon sustainability other than that these largely act as sanctuaries for wildlife.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

I rarely give 5 stars because that requires a provider to go above and beyond what they offer. In this case we had serious problems with our international flights and we received excellent backup from the tour operator who not only got us home but also allowed us to relax in the knowledge that the situation was being managed. Their itinerary also exceeded our expectations and the local guides added a whole layer of knowledge regarding the lives and culture of Mexico's indigenous peoples.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

There were so many amazing moments but a couple of stand outs are: Arriving at Teotihuacan and seeing the pyramids for the first time. The scale of the site and the stories we heard about events that took place there left a huge impact. The drive from San Cristobal to Palenque. The drive is long but there is so much to see, from capturing snippets of how mountain people live and work, to the sweeping panoramas of jungle and sheer drops! It didn't feel like 6 hours and we have so many memories from the journey itself, not to mention how beautiful the Palenque ruins are when you at long last arrive.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It was clear that tourism was important in many of the areas we visited and we felt pleased to contribute to the economy, with the exception of Quintana Roo which felt like a type of disneyland, far removed from the rest of Mexico, built in a way to please visitors from the US

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We loved our vacation. Each time we arrived at a new place we were met with new tastes, sounds and stories. Our guides filled us with information, the locals were consistently kind and friendly and we found Mexico to be a wonderful country, rich in culture, gastronomy and so much more.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Encountering Mexico made us challenge preconceptions and our understanding of what it is to be Mexican. Most memorable surprisingly were how safe and beautiful are the cities we visited and the welcome we received from the Mexican people, urban and rural. Monte Alban. The food was wonderful from street to fish restaurants on Holbox

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Read about Mexico before going especially through its literature, watch the BBc programmes on Mexican Art, Rick Stein on food. Travel light, engage with the locals. Say no to plastic in all its forms where possible/realistic. Walk walk walk!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Hope so! Provided work, helped us understand their challenges. Only one place didn't provide plastic straws, this should be encouraged. Trip down canyon by boat helps ensure protection of wildlife by giving tourists something to see.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent
