We must say that our guide Kokko was a very good one, very friendly and always very punctual, helpful and knowledgeable. He made our tour worthwhile. If when we booked the tour we had been told that we would be doing it just at the start of the Ramadan period, and that it would affect our visit, we would have chosen other dates. However don't take our comments as complaints, we thought that the fact of having been in the Maldives during Ramadan was an experience which we had not had in any of the other Muslim countries which we had visited. Food, drinks, etc., everything has been good. The hotels were fine. Only a small thing. Perhaps guests should be advised beforehand that in Guraidhoo Palm Inn, soap is not provided. We had some soap with us but maybe other tourists would have had difficulties in finding a shop open during the whole day to buy it. We were very happy in Guraidhoo Palm Inn; the food, chosen by our guide Kokko, was very good indeed; the room was very comfortable, but we thought that a big improvement would have been if there was a can of Air Freshener in the bathroom. Another small thing we would like to add is that it is a pity that the Maldivians don't take a pride in keeping their islands as clean as the ocean waters around them. We found too much rubbish everywhere and thought that the Government should organise "cleaning days" as in Ruanda.Holiday Reviews
