1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Chris and the other guides - Kiersten, Sean and Yennis were professional and also very knowledgeable about all the local flora and fauna. The group dynamic was perfect - 3 solo travelers and 3 couples and we all got along really well. The walks were varied ranging from the ups and downs of the rocky Alpujarran paths, to the ochre headlands of the coast, and the wonderful almond blossom of the Contraviesa. Views of the snow-capped distant peaks were wonderful.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be reasonably fit as there was no rest day mid-week. Take warm clothes as temperatures varied quite a lot. Also take good walking boots with good grip and ankle support.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, Casa Ana staff are all people who live locally and are not just seasonal, and the owner lives there permanently. We ate at a local bar one evening. Casa Ana is a typical Alpujarran house lovingly restored over several years using traditional methods and local builders.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A great way to get some winter sunshine away from the tourist hordes, while staying fit, and enjoying excellent cuisine and good company.
