1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The converted barn accommodation is really comfy. Tucked away in an old wooded cider valley it's very peaceful although handy for beaches, river walks and great restaurants.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Do the kayaking, it's really fun and Dave & Susie great at judging what you can manage - we were a very mixed group (aged 13 -52) and all enjoyed ourselves and felt pleasantly tired afterwards. Think about booking restaurants in advance - We squeezed in last minute to some great restaurants - Shoals & Simply Fish, and booked ahead for Riverford, all delicious. Brixham is as great spot for takeaway seaside fish & chips too.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Susie & Dave are very much locals after living there for 20 plus years and it was great to see the beautiful coast from their perspective.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Perfect active vacation for a family wanting a retreat from hectic city living.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Kayaking to Newfoundland Cove and enjoying a freshly brewed mug of tea (and biscuits!)

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Take a bike to explore the smaller roads and an OS map for walking. Book ahead for restaurants as the good places are busy in summer.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We certainly spent money locally in shops, markets, cafes and restaurants.. There are plenty of small, family owned businesses in this part of the world, and we supported them. Environmental impacts are harder to judge. There is a lot of car traffic everywhere (including us) so ideally walk or cycle as much as possible. We visited more out of the way beaches and picked up litter when we kayaked to small coves.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

It was a really great week away with lovely hosts. The accommodation was light and modern in a lovely walled orchard and we had good weather so enjoyed just relaxing in the garden. The kayaking was great, our kids (19 and 24) both enjoyed it and it was a good balance with other activities, including walking, swimming and eating a lot!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Sea kayaking! Dave and Suzie were great guides and instructors. Stopping for elevenses on tiny beaches was great fun

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

There are some great beaches and small towns that are worth visiting. Man Sands and Scabbacome, Brixham, Dartmouth and Stoke Gabriel are all lovely places

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes - the sea kayaking is a great way to see some amazing environments without causing damage. We were also able to collect plastic off some of the beaches we visited. We were recommended some good local restaurants and take away services that we felt did support the local community

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A really good staycation
