1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We were a family of four with 17 and 15 year old lads, but children ranged down to around 10. We did the 7 day activity package with this operator and enjoyed the climbing and canoe expedition best. There was a heat wave while we were there and the leaders knew all the best places to cool off, rock jumping or cave swimming. It worked really well being among English families and we made good friends with both the staff and travelers. The company was a very professional outfit and the staff worked incredibly hard to make it a special experience for us travelers. They catered for all abilities and the ratio of staff to travelers was around 1 to 4 on the more challenging activities.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Pack Uno or cards or something for teenagers on the overnight canoeing bivouack to keep teenagers entertained in the evening. Note there is no alcohol allowed in the gorge.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The fresh fruit and salad served at every meal were local produce, so sweet and fresh. Parents paired with younger kids found the double canoes a bit tiring toward the end of the second day, but still found it a rewarding and fun adventure. All the kids revelled in it. Definitely one off the bucket list, thank you to the operator and Pont de Maison Neuve campsite.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We have struggled pleasing mid teenage kids the last couple of years, but there were few complaints this time, apart from satisfying their appetites on some of the lunches. The Ardeche is a beautifully unspoiled area and we will definitely return to explore.

Be zen about the heat it is very hot in Ardesh in the summer.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The instructors, the professionalism and the enthusiasm they all put in really made this a vacation to remember. From myself as an unfit 40 year old down to my 12 year old son we were looked after and made to feel welcome. All the activities were conducted with the highest safety standards. What a fabulous group of people who did their best to ensure my family had the best adventure ever!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Please do not hesitate to book with this company. The personal touch is there and they look after all individuals on the trip. The instructors even worked hard to get a disabled lad to the top of each rock jump on the Ardeche so he would not miss out. Please if you want an active vacation, sun, a great laugh and an experience that will bring your family together look no further than this company.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely, highly professional, expert instructors in their own fields who clearly cared about the surroundings and their activity.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

5 stars, listen, I never fill in feedback forms but this company has given my family the best vacation ever and basically we are all looking to go again. Well done everyone involved!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Traveling through the more remote and spectacular lower stages of the Gorge. The geography is fantastic and beautiful.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Go with a guided tour. You will see a lot more as they know where and what to look for (for example, there was a cave in the side of the Gorge with an underwater entrance that you just could not find unless you knew it was there). Apart from the fact that they will do a lot of the support work you and you will be safer you will just plain have more fun with people who know what they are doing and have a lot to teach you about kayaking and the Gorge.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The tour used all local services and support (they hire local kayaks rather than bringing their own in, for example).

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Definitely the highlight of our two weeks in the Ardeche. A good thing for families too as it is exciting without being too arduous for the younger or older members. Yes you do go down rapids but they are fierce ones.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Kayaking down the beautiful Ardeche gorge.....capsizing our boat and being rescued by a naked man in the naturist section of the river.....kids having a brilliant time jumping from high rocks into the river.....abseiling into a cave.....being part of a really friendly group, having drinks together in the bar.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

It's a pretty non-stop vacation - don't expect lots of free time. If you like being active and taking part in well-organised activities then it's great.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

I had never been on an activity vacation before, or done much kayaking before, and just before we went I was wondering what on earth I had let myself in for. But it was amazing! My teenagers (15 and 13) had the most wonderful time and so did I. The activities were well organised and the instructors were just wonderful, can't speak highly enough of them. I have no hesitation in recommending this vacation to anyone who likes to be active and is up for a bit of an adventure. I came back feeling completely re-energised.
