Reviews for Patagonian adventure vacation in Chile and Argentina

review 28 Nov 2010

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Torres Del Paine national park, with its beautiful scenery. I could have stayed forever. And the most memorable bit was when we saw a puma! Every day had a memorable event though, I cant believe how much was packed into two weeks.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Try to buy your own international flights to save money, although going into Santiago and leaving from Buenos Aires this may be expensive to do without the agent. Make sure you are used to mountain walking as some treks are 8 hours long.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. All the hotels, buses, drivers, and guides were local small businesses. I felt like all my money was going into the local economy and not to multinationals. It also meant you got the real experience of the country and spent time with local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone. The group was mixed in age and those in their 30s like me enjoyed it as much as those in their 60s. (you can do your own thing in the evenings if you want to!).
