1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Being able to get to the blue cave without other tourists being around.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don't expect sea boats to be up to normal standard, no bulkhead between day hatch and rear main hatch. Charts supplied are inadequate, for sea trips with no lat or long. We were dropped off at the wrong ferry terminal by our rep...spray decks when required was inadequate for rough seas, basic nylon decks that leaked.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The area is strewn with rubbish, with very little local intervention to recover it from the seas. As kayakers we had little impact on the environment. However, as it's becoming more popular outside people are investing in the area. Within the next 20 years it will be just vacation let's.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Accommodation and the food was good, our contact whilst on the islands worked hard juggling two groups.Read the operator's response here:
Dear Nigel,
Thank you for your feedback. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the accommodation and the food on the island and that your contact was friendly and helpful.
We strongly recommend taking guided tours instead of self guided tours. Guides are familiar with the area and the overall quality of the tours are better since the guides are fully focused on the group.
Regarding the equipment, I am sorry you did not report this to the guide immediately as the it could have been replaced.
Regarding the environment, sometimes the winds bring some litter thrown by the ships. This is something that is unfortunately out of our control.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Getting out on the sea and being able to travel at your own pace. The Islands are amazing and Miljet is a must see place, we loved it.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don't book it too late in October, we traveled on the 9th and it felt like we were too late in the season and the vacation provider had mostly shut down. We felt we were a bit of a pain for them wanting to do this trip at this time of year. That being said we LOVED Croatia at this time of year and places were open everywhere we went...so go do it, if you want it, it's worth it! If you are doing the self guided package make sure you do know a fair bit about kayaking, we both have over 10 years experience working and playing on the sea and if we hadn't of had that much previous experience it would have been pretty scary! We took our own cags and wetsuits which meant we were warm enough at this time of year too, so worth popping them in your luggage!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes we feel it benefited locals, meeting lots of friendly Croatians along the way, selling local produce and seeing them working in their own bars/restaurants etc. We traveled mostly on public transport so in this way it reduced our carbon footprint (along with being in kayaks too!).4. It was a good time, with many kayaking adventures...and it was our honeymoon, so will be a memory forever. Perhaps a bit more information and support during our time out there would have made it just that little bit more perfect, as sometimes we felt a bit alone with no information!Louise Solomon review 23 Aug 2015
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Our first evening, we arrived at Lopud early evening and we set off at about 7pm and we kayaked for a couple of hours while the sun was setting. it was beautiful and very quiet on the water.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared for the weather. When it is sunny it is really hot and lovely being in the kayak but need to make sure you have a high factor suntan lotion on and well covered. But when there is bad weather, the sea can become very choppy and hard work. Would recommend sea sickness tablets - these were offered to us by our guide on a couple of occasions. We cancelled one day due to bad weather.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes - we ate at the local restaurants and stayed in local accomodation.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Very good. Our booking was not straight forward but nothing was too much trouble to be sorted. We enjoyed the kayaking because we were able to get away from the the throng of tourists and it was an ideal vacation for the 3 active teenagers we had with us but easy enough for the adults. The teenagers would have liked to "explore" more while they were kayaking rather than just getting form A to B.Mariana Heinrich review 7 Jul 2015
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The sea kayaking and snorkelling on Lopud island was great fun. It got quite interesting in terms of high waves on the way back which was a welcomed challenge. Also the cycling on Mljet around the Lakes was nice being able to swim at many spots.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take water shoes! you need them everywhere: for kayaking and getting into and out of the water as there are always pebbled stone beaches. Only change island after 3 nights. Anything less doesn't give you the chance to get a feel for the place.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
No, we didn't feel this particularly.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
A great organisation from the vacation provider as they planned us a tailor-made and self-guided trip. They provided quick transport as well and took the hassle out of bookings and planning.Holiday Reviews
