Reviews for Central Asia highlights tour

review 11 Jul 2016

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We did. Trek over Ton Prival pass, approximately 4,100m high, through the snow, for 9 hours. It was an exhilarating day, with the most amazing views. The view from the top was great, but every corner on the way it just got better and better. That was a definite highlight!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Have as much time as you can to spare. We managed 31 days, which allowed lots of time for visiting cities as well as hiking, which was the primary point of our trip. Don't overlook places like Bishtek or Turkmenistan; when planning the itenarary they were not high on my list of must dos, but they turned out to be highlights as well.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We interacted with many local people, used local shops, market stalls to try and make a positive impact. I am not sure how successful we were, but many people earned more money from us coming, which must be a good thing.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Absolutely excellent. The diversity was amazing. Yet, even with 31 days, there is still so much we need to see. Next time the Pamir Highway just cannot be missed! And maybe Lenin Peak!
