1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The village we stayed in, Grazalema, was absolutely beautiful and the surrounding countryside was stunning. The mountain walks are amazing with the views of the Griffin Vultures being a huge highlight. Clive, who runs the tourist office for Grazalema was also a genuine highlight. He took real interest in our stay there and was brilliant at directing me to the veggie friendly restaurants. His commitment and passion for the local community and traditional arts shone through and enthused us in turn. All in all - a really great vacation.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
To chat to Clive about the local culture/community - it's genuinely interesting and to just take full advantage of the amazing walks and wildlife. This is definitely not a staying indoors vacation!!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. Again, Clive talked a lot about the importance of the local community and how sustainable tourism works there. We felt as we were based in the village that we were contributing by eating locally and buying locally and organically sourced produce. Even the woman who did our airport transfers, Eva, was a passionate conservationist who talked to us in great detail about the wildlife and the ecology of the area - so we'd learnt loads before we even set foot in Grazalema - which was brilliant!4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
I would rate this vacation as really enjoyable. It was exactly what we were looking for - the attention to detail (packed lunches everyday/ breakfast in the local cafe/detailed maps of the walks/access to Clive's knowledge) was fantastic.Rachel Lawson review 31 Jan 2013
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The views were fantastic and the walking very pleasant. The walks were well organised.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
A great time to go was early January as it was perfect walking weather. There is a great looking restaurant at El Achebuchal- the lost village. It would have been good to know about this before we went to arrange transport and have an evening meal.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, it did bring money into a village that was not part of the tourist route.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was great -the weather, walking and views.Ian Macpherson review 6 Apr 2013
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The walks were very interesting and varied. The staff based in Torrox were very helpful when we had issues.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Check which accommodation you have been allocated. The first one we were allocated was very disappointing. Then the one we were moved to was fantastic. This made such a difference to the vacation.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Meals were taken in local bars/restaurants. Picnics were also resourced locally.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Good, but marred with the first accommodation and the issues we had with it.Holiday Reviews
