1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
We loved all of it. Probably Ghyll scrambling2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
One family recommended change of clothes ++ : we would thoroughly endorse this (although there is a laundrette around the corner from the hotel). Also, having your own towels, hats and gloves, even in summer, keeps your options open when you are up on the fells3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we felt very close to the local community and were pleased to support local businesses recovering from Covid4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

If you can only do one of the activities do the ghyll scrambling!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It benefited local people because we used local facilities, shops, restaurants etc. The activity center used non-plastic bags for packed lunches; the activity leaders shared their knowledge about the local environment, wildlife, geology etc. & ensured we were respecting it at all times.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was absolutely brilliant and surpassed all our expectations. Our activities were tailored to suit our abilities and preferences, the leaders were infinitely patient and helped all of us achieve what we could, the accommodation was really lovely and comfortable with plenty of space and friendly staff. The only minor point is that vegan options at the hotel were limited although what we had was excellent and the chef even prepared a special vegan meal one night when there was nothing on the menu. Ghyll scrambling down Stoneycroft ghyll - going head first down a waterfall down the hillside - incredible!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take plenty of changes of clothes and towels as you will get wet. Try everything - you'll be amazed what you can do even if you've never tried it before. And this is a fantastic vacation for parents and children to try things together where you're all out of your comfort zone.3. Definitely. Everything we did was directly with local providers. The outdoor activities team were very knowledgeable about the area so we learned lots about the history of the place, and the impact of their work. They were also great at educating the children (and adults) about nature and doing things naturally which we have carried with us.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

1- that there is a half day free 2- that it is possible to change the activities if you don't like them 3 - that warm over clothes are provided for the gyll scrambling (not really mentioned in the trip details) 4 - book table for dinner in the restaurant at latest in the morning if eating in the hotel 5 - bring more clothes than you think you will need3. Very enjoyable and offered both something for adults and children. Although you were with a group for activities you could still do your own thing in the evening which meant that it still felt like an independent vacation.Holiday Reviews
