1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Treetop dining area. Great outdoor pool. Two trips. Friendly and helpful staff.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

If you come in the rainy season (about Oct to Feb), expect mosquitoes! But the lodge does supply lotion, netting and coils. If you like the experience of few other guests and personal service, do come in the rainy season!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

This was an Eco lodge, which protects the local environment and employs local people, so a definite yes here

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The artist at the lodge who taught me how to carve a block of calcite. His story was remarkable and his spirit uplifting.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Check out all the activities and make the most of them.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Incredibly so. I only want to travel in this way in the future.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Re-invigorating and inspiring. I want to go back with my family sometime.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Swimming, reading, and relaxing by the pool at the resort. Taking a little trip to the beach and having a drink over looking the ocean.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

The staff was wonderful, the food was great, close to the airport, beautiful grounds, and nice rooms.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. All the staff were local. The lodge seemed to be part of the landscape, rather than the other way around. Lots of critters (birds, butterflies, frogs) lived on the grounds--that says something.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Great spot to stay for 2 days. Close to the airport and activities in the tourist area of Bali (Kuta, etc.), but far enough away to enjoy nature.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The ecolodge was very comfortable with friendly hosts who were able to tell us a lot about the wildlife of Indonesia. South Bali has been rather spoiled but you can get away from the traffic and tourists here in the Jimbaran Hills and take taxis to sample all the amazing beaches have to offer - surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling, fish restaurants, etc. Or just swim in the pool which has a fantastic view over to the mainland.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Jimbaran Beach is half an hour's walk away and there's a steep climb back up to the lodge. Be prepared to pay for taxis to the beaches unless you're content with the pool and large wildlife garden and also for traffic jams through Kuta and Jimbaran. The lodge and surrounds are beautiful and peaceful though.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

The ecolodge employed well trained, friendly local staff and was obviously committed to high standards of environmental management. This is just one of a number of ecolodges in Indonesia under the same ownership with amazing access to rare wildlife but I'm not sure how much wildlife is left in South Bali. As a combination vacation with another ecolodge it really worked for us - we did the beaches and the markets from this ecolodge and then enjoyed the peace and wildlife of the mountain and Bali village life at the other ecolodge.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

The best vacation we've ever had, particularly the elements booked through responsibletravel.com - they were the highlights and we'll definitely be looking through your catalogues again.

I stayed the first night at this accommodation - people friendly and helpful - gardens nice to explore and for those of you who want a pool they have one in a nice setting and lovely library of books. Did not experience any of their excursions so cannot comment other than it was a quiet place well away from the busy beaches and would be nice to return to at the end of the day at the beach.
