Big cat specialist

Typically trips are expertly guided by a leading specialist with a good knowledge of the area to be visited. The Big Cats and other resident wildlife are the main focus of attention however most trips also incorporate other fauna and flora highlights of the destination as well. Our trips use local guides and experts and contribute to local conservation projects whenever possible.

Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: India tiger watching vacations

Environment

Every year we choose a grassroots project that we can support with a percentage of our profits being donated. These projects vary year on year and usually involve the conservation of the Big Cats of the world. For more information regarding these projects please check our website.

We aim to minimise our impact on the environment as much in the UK as we would do in any of our destination countries. We do this through recycling of any office waste including, paper, plastic, cans, glass, refuse, in partnership with the Borough of Brighton and Hove.

The Tree House Hideaway in Bandhavgarh National Park is surrounded by residential species of birds, reptiles and animals which over time has become a small secure park for them. All tree houses have been made by local staff using regularized wood. Local craft knowledge and traditional expertise has been used at all quarters to ensure that the tree houses blend with nature.

At the Shergarh Tented camp in Kanha National Park they provide toiletries made from 100% natural products and stored in reusable glass bottles. Each tent is housed beneath fired earth tiles which helps keep a pleasant climate throughout the year. Local chefs provide food fresh from their garden or the local markets.

Community

Where possible, we always use local suppliers in preference to others, whether this is in the purchase of provisions, accommodation, transport or equipment. Through the employment of our local ground operators, who use local guides and drivers, money is fed directly back into individual families and villages that would otherwise not benefit from tourism, as well as giving more jobs to local people. Great guiding is essential on wildlife adventures and few people know a place better than the locals.

By visiting some of the cultural sights of India as well as the natural highlights the local communities see the benefit of these attractions and work hard to preserve them. The purpose of our safaris is to contribute to local populations, communities and projects. We give our travelers advice on how to interact with the local population, flora and fauna in order to minimise any negative impact. We advise people not to bargain just for the sake of it and because it is the “thing to do”; you should pay what you feel the object is worth to yourself and the vendor, bearing in mind local cultures, society and standard of living.
