1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
A mix of good memories. Dubrovnik was stunning but quite touristy. But Korcula was so peaceful and tranquil. The local seafood was amazing and the clarity of the seawater was beautiful. All the different excursions were great fun for different reasons.
2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
It is quiet and quite remote so if you are looking for peace and calm away from it all; this is the place.
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I assume tourism is important for the locals so yes; I guess they benefitted.
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It did the trick of escaping from the rat race of London. We had a wonderful time but any longer in the same place might have been a struggle. We were itching to explore more of Croatia and the beautiful islands and landscape.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
On our trips we walk and hike on established paths and tell our guests not to feed, fish, hunt and disturb wildlife we encounter. Our Motor Yacht for day excursions is specially designed WITHOUT Propellers, instead our engineers developed water jet system which is safe for sea animals, and our guests to swim safe around the boat.
In our office we minimize printing actions and recycle paper. Most of all, we ensure that negative environmental impacts are drawn to a minimum.
By booking this trip you get to see a whole new perspective of this beautiful part of Croatian Islands by sailing on our Yacht, kayaking and snorkeling on the hidden and best preserved parts of the clearest sea in Europe guests are given the chance to explore in a ways which are least harmful to the environment.
A visit to National Park Mljet island sea Lakes and park of Nature Lastovo Island is included in the program - the fees that we pay to the National Park contribute to the conservation of that area.
People
By booking this trip you bring much needed income to the people who are still recovering from the war-torn years, as this was the area severely affected by war, especially Dubrovnik old city. This trip ensures that the local people benefit as much as possible in the form of jobs (we employ local guides and drivers only) and provision of accommodation (we use our own family owned Captain's Villa ). We also use our own transfer services, buy food from the small farms and work on developing responsible waste management by stimulating waste recycle.By buying local products you are supporting this countries’ economy and helping Croatia to stand on her feet again! We consider it our responsibility to lead efforts to maintain and preserve the integrity of this fledgling sector by petitioning the introduction of tighter controls over the use of the country’s natural resources.
Captain's Villa is our small family run hotel that employs local people and in that way is irreplaceable in the community. Our hosts in the small family restaurant prepare breakfasts , lunches and farewell dinner with our own home grown food and fish from our own pond.
