Description of 14 day tour of Vietnam
Everything is tweak-able, giving you the freedom to build a unique and personal trip for your chosen date. Upgrade your accommodation for all - or just part - of your trip, slow down the pace with few extra nights here and there or add a few more active adventures along the way
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWe’ve chosen small scale accommodation throughout this itinerary, reducing the carbon footprint of your stay. We prioritise locally-owned properties full of local character.
We work with a local partner in Vietnam who is also conscious about their impact on the planet. They encourage their staff to be mindful of their water and electricity usage, and paper consumption, using both sides of paper for printing. They separate and recycle all their waste paper for recycling.
Meanwhile in our own offices in the UK we’re also mindful of our own energy consumption and monitor it on a biannual basis with a view to constantly reduce each year. We’re also dedicated recyclers and even recycle our food waste so that it doesn’t end up in landfill.
Before customers depart for their trip to Vietnam we include a guide to responsible travel in their documentation. This outlines how they too can be mindful of their energy and water consumption as well as informing them on endangered species and animal exploitation.
PeopleWe pride ourselves in putting people first, both in Vietnam and in the UK. This itinerary will bring you closer to the local communities through genuine interaction. In Hanoi you’ll explore the city with a local guide who will also double up as your language coach, teaching you the basics of the complex Vietnamese language. You’ll be encouraged to barter at the local stalls and order your own food and drink in the local lingo. With your newly acquired language skills, you’ll get a deeper insite into the local culture.
In former Saigon you’ll hop on the back of a vintage Vespa to discover delicious Vietnamese street food and eat just like the locals do. Don’t be surprised to see a few snails on the menu!
On the Mekong Delta you’ll spend the night in the home of a local family, giving you a unique insight into daily life amongst the delta community. Role up your sleeves and help out with the evening meal, all the while putting money into the pockets of the local people.
