Responsible tourism: Patagonia 14 day tour

This trip includes three of the most stunning natural parks in the region. The entrance fees contribute to the maintenance and conservation of these pristine settings. You will have a chance to spend two nights in Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile’s Patagonia. To experience the spectacular scenery of this National Park will simply be unforgettable. You will be briefed as to how to trek responsibly and respectfully. We have developed some handy guidance to help respect the outdoors. Some key guidelines include respecting all park regulations such as keeping to marked trails and bring your own water bottles to fill to reduce plastic waste.

Local guides and tour leaders will also advise travelers as to how to minimise their impact on the environment: disposing of all waste responsibly, take back everything, leave no trace. It is also advisable to avoid buying products that have excessive packaging and not accept plastic bags when purchasing goods.

These and other tips on how to travel responsibly, as well as information on local flora and fauna can be found in the road book we provide to our travelers.

On the cruise to the Beagle Channel, travelers will circumnavigate different islands. A great opportunity to photograph and appreciate the wildlife without disturbing the ecosystem. Local wildlife includes penguin colonies, sea lions and sea birds, like albatrosses and petrels.

We always encourage travelers to use local public transportation ad incorporate it into our trips whenever possible, helping reduce road congestion, energy consumption and greenhouse gases.

This is a fix date trip; groups are very small, normally comprised of 4 to 10 people, helping to minimise the negative environmental and social impact.

We support local employment and communities in our choice of accommodation, tours, transportation, etc. We want local populations to benefit from the resources generated by tourism, by putting as much as possible back into the local communities. We always take into consideration the feedback we receive from the local population to try to improve the quality of services in the best way possible.

As a local operator, we have a deep knowledge of the region and local circumstances, something we are eager to share with our travelers. We encourage real interaction between travelers and local people while respecting the culture, history and customs of each individual community. All travelers are provided with detailed guidelines as to how to travel responsibly, including information on local communities and traditions to help respect local customs and habits, as well as accepting their different behaviour and way of thinking.

We donate 3% of the total price of this trip to co-fund micro-projects implemented by local schools, associations and ONGs. These are community projects based on education and conservation activities, especially addressed to young people. Some projects include the use of energy efficient cookers for school canteens, pedagogical gardening in rural schools and, the newest entry, a complete educational pack on local indigenous cultures such as the Incas and the Huarpe.
