Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

The Komodo Resort has been built sustainably using teak wood that has either been recycled or comes from controlled plantations.
In terms of consumption we aim to limit the amount of plastic and waste products used whilst on tour - refilling bottled water is highly encouraged, we make a local donation of £15 per original bottle returned at the end of each tour (i.e tour members have only used one bottle for the entire trip). We also encourage tour members to limit their usage of shampoos, laundry and cosmetic/cleaning products during the tour.
The Impacts of this Trip
All of our local partners have established mutually strong relationships with the local communities, complying with all local rules and regulations such as a minimum wage requirement and fair trade rules.
Our chosen resorts are actively supporting the local communities that we operate in with participation in local beach cleans. The properties also employ local staff and actively improve the health, education and skill development of the people of the island. These initiatives are paid for with a portion of the profits from the resorts.
We also encourage tour members to 'buy responsibly' at local markets and Warungs (family owned shops). Traveling in small groups enables us to limit our impact in more remote and culturally sensitive regions throughout the tour, particularly in Komodo regions where lifestyle tends to be more primitive. Transfers and connections are also managed by small local operators ensuring an even distribution of funds are directly benefits local communities.
