As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetOur journeys are by nature ecological, sustainable and take place in full respect of nature.
We are not a big company, but we are committed to offering low impact tours that benefit both the places and communities we visit as well as our travelers. It is important for us all to be aware of the delicate balance that exists in the variety of natural wonders you will visit. National Parks and monuments, archaeological sites and other sensitive areas should and must be treated with respect.
We have created a 'Travelers' Code of Conduct' to help prepare and inform our groups of the various positive or negative effects they could have on a destination. The code includes tips on everything from handling wildlife encounters to how you can help to conserve precious natural resources.
This code includes following the ‘Leave No Trace’ ethic; this is an international campaign that is designed to help us minimise the impact on the National Parks and other wilderness areas that we visit. Some key guidelines we follow include keeping to existing trails, staying in official campgrounds and disposing of all waste responsibly and recycling whatever we can.
This tour incorporates use of a local guide and National Park communal transport, as well as adhering to National Park rules and regulations. Our tour leaders will also educate travelers on how best to interact with the wildlife in the parks, for example advising people not to feed the animals to stop them becoming dependent on hand-outs from humans
We spend a significant amount of time at various National Parks on this tour, the included entrance fees help to preserve the status and upkeep of the park on a continued and sustainable basis. Interaction with National Park Rangers helps to preserve this role as an employment opportunity for local people and future generations
The transfer by car are minimal and most of the activities are in nature, kayaking, walking, cycling. we often travel in natural environments that we respect and preserve. our leave no trace policy is total. in particular the Dolomites are Unesco site and we adopt all the attentions to respect this wonderful ecosystem. this journey takes place in environments outside mass tourism, and the structures that welcome us are small, remote and alternative, with a great sense of respect for nature. on all occasions we select restaurants that offer an original cuisine and that use local products, the taste for good food must also take place respecting nature and the eco-system.
PeopleThe support to the local community is one of our gold rule. We use local family owned accommodation. We also shop locally for groceries, eat in small family-run restaurants and visit local shops whenever possible. This all brings economic benefit to the local communities that we visit.
Our way of traveling tends to use small farms, rifugio, restaurants that have a family management, this to enhance the sense of travel, have a direct relationship with the locals, and encourage and support micro local business.
It is important for us to contribute to developing an original and alternative way of traveling for this purpose. We include cultural visits that bring benefit to the local communities and families involved in these activities. The museums we visit are not so famous, run by local organizations.
There are plenty of opportunities to engage with local culture. we stay at mountain huts or refuges, some of which are really off the beaten track and dependent on the more curious adventurer to remain in business. These locally run huts are a good place to stop and engage with the people who live and work in the area. They often serve local beers and delicious home cooked meals. Often they sell locally produced food, we may be able to visit a nearby cheese factory.
