Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

Embarking on this trip we have been very careful in selecting our vessel. We have specifically chosen a smaller ship that carries less people, creating far less waste. Waste management is appropriately infiltrated as all waste is disposed of on shore and not in the ocean or on/near icecaps.

The smaller ship also creates lesser impact when completing on shore landings and minimising disturbance of wildlife. We are fully compliant with all rules and codes of conduct in association with a membership of IAATO.

Our pre-departure packages are sent electronically in order to familiarise individuals about the fragile environment that Antarctica is and sustainability initiatives such as proper waste management and reduction as well as how to appropriately engage with the environment around you to ultimately, reduce negative impact.

As an office space we are striving towards a paperless office and implementing more use of 100% green energy. We use energy saving bulbs in our work centers and encourage our workplace to reduce their contribution to emissions by riding bikes, walking or catching public transport to and from work.

The Impacts of this Trip

This trip begins in Ushuaia where you will have time to sample local food and shop at local boutiques which we encourage individuals to take part in for experience and in supporting of the local community. We also encourage people to explore Stanley located on The Falkland Islands and even spend a couple extra days in Valdes Peninsula upon disembarkment.

We currently work with three different charities, giving us a broad spectrum and diversifying where our money goes. We work with Project Peru in the UK who run an orphanage in Zapallal in the shanty town outskirts of Lima, ANIA in Peru which is a high profile Peruvian NGO working with children and helps to teach them about their local environment and how to manage it affectively.

We also corroborate with foundations in Australia whom work on several development projects in Latin America and around the world. We help these charities by fundraising treks, donations as a company. through our clients and through many of our customers who volunteer their time and expertise. These charities are close to our core of supporting the environment and children in need.
