Vacation information
Small group tour, ideal for solos & couples:
Small group travel is not large group travel scaled down. It is modeled on independent travel – but with the advantage of a group leader to take care of the itinerary, accommodation and tickets, and dealing with the language. It’s easy to tick off the big sights independently – but finding those one-off experiences, local festivals, traveling markets and secret viewpoints is almost impossible for someone without the insider knowledge gained from years in the field. For those with limited time, a small group tour will save valuable time in planning, and on vacation.

4 out of 5 stars

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The trips from Siem Reap were amazing - specifically to the Angkor Temple complexes.
2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
I would suggest bringing bug spray and hydrocortisone - I found myself being bitten several times a night. Other than that, really soak up the experience
because it does fly by!
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The opportunity to visit and support local craftspeople was certianly felt. While I did not buy a gift/souvenir at every place, it was reassuring to know the money I was spending was supporting/ being spread over a large area.
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
I really enjoyed this vacation, especially the Cambodia leg.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

During the homestay experience in the Mekong Delta, travelers will be able to learn more about local building traditions and materials. The buildings that travelers stay in are made by locals from locally-sourced materials including bamboo, clay tiles and coconut products.Travelers will also spend a night in a homestay near Phong Nha National Park. Our hosts have joined forces with us in the fight against single use plastics. Where possible they are no longer using single use plastic items like straws, bags and bottles. Our hosts also have a small rainwater collection system, which they use for watering vegetable gardens and household cleaning. They’re as keen to preserve their gorgeous region of Vietnam as we are.
We use local transport where it is safe, reliable and feasible to do so, and when this is not feasible, we use private, locally owned transport instead. We always ensure our vehicles/fleets are well maintained and fuel-efficient. This trip also includes three overnight train journeys, giving travelers an opportunity to travel like the locals do. Whilst it’s an efficient way to maximise time and sightseeing in Vietnam, we also like to include trains as a way to reduce the carbon produced by our passengers.
People
Nha Trang has become an internationally popular beachside destination. This has brought with it rapid development and the dilution of local Vietnamese culture. In response to this, we will now be visiting Tuy Hoa instead. Tuy Hoa has beautiful beaches and surrounding natural areas, which travelers will share with just a handful of others. We are working with local hotels and restaurants on ways to maintain their culture and preserve their environment. Our local suppliers in Tuy Hoa are looking forward to welcoming more travelers to their sunny pocket of Vietnam. Our local leaders provide travelers with a Vietnamese language survival guide when they join this trip. Words and phrases are listed phonetically as well as in English and Vietnamese. The leader runs through this list to help travelers become more confident with commonly used words and phrases. Travelers are able to be polite and friendly in their interactions with locals, using greetings like please and thank you to show their respect.
