Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

Peru has unique cultural, historical and remote rainforest protected areas not far from Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, and the most wanted city in Peru for international travelers. Our operations are designed to offer minimal impact possible while visiting historical monuments, fragile archaeological locations, and world heritage sites, you will see while travel to Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and the famous Machu Picchu Citadel, all destinations surrounded by spectacular and beautiful Andean landscape, still inhabited by local Quechua descendants. In addition, while visiting the Amazon rainforests, you will be immersed in one of two places hosting the richest biodiversity levels ever found by science, still not affected by hord of massive tourism where we run our operations having in mind to mitigate or completely avoid negative impact of visitation.

Our parties involved in our logistics and services are 100% locals, men and women properly trained and fully licenced by the Ministry of Tourism and nature protected areas. Many of our parties have degrees in tourism, guiding and travel industry, all committed to be part of the collaborative force and role of protecting important historical, cultural and archaeological sites, nature protected areas. In addition, our operations and logistics are very respectful of living cultures that still live in places you will visit as you travel Peru.

Peru is still a developing nation that is rediscovering tourism as an important economy, source of jobs in locations far from large cities or industrialized regions where other economies are limited or not feasible. We are part of a growing number of tour operators who believe that sound tourism offers the best of the opportunities to secure a more equitable, socially inclusive, and economically sustainable economy to safeguard our nature capital and heritage.

The Impacts of this Trip

Tourism is the fourth most important economy in Peru. Our spectacular nature and geography, and the rich and unique historical and cultural heritage is a real treasure for travelers who search great and unforgettable experiences. We consider that each of our clients or travelers are important actors in the process of making tourism a genuine tool to secure the present and future economic, social and environmental sustainability rural inhabitants and entire municipalities, where other means of employment are not possible, as is the case of most of the majority of the Andes along Peru.

Our operations involve locals from several communities you will travel, individuals who are professional guides and drivers that will take you through remarkable landscapes featuring many nature spectacles found nowhere else in South America, these individuals also offer lodging and cooking services. By working several years in tourism, we have secure jobs and a supported sound tourism to benefit destinations, individuals and their extended families. As we visit several archaeological sites inside seven municipalities near Cusco, in the Peruvian Andes and in the Tambopata Amazon rainforest as well, we support people from rural areas who depend from agricultural production for self-consumption. Tourism is one of the few economic alternatives that is not creating the undesirable effect of environmental degradation neither is a threat for living cultures.

Currently, Andean communities are facing problems originated by unsustainable economies such as extensive agriculture and lately conflict of interest because of mining concessions or like in the Tambopata region; still inhabited, and a truly jewel for biodiversity conservation worldwide, inhabitants and municipalities are facing difficult times due to uncontrolled colonization process, paved roads, and gold mining, all increasing deforestation, slash and burning for unsustainable cattle ranching, loss of indigenous territories and loss of biodiversity.

We have been participating in the making of sound tourism for many years, and we consider ourselves actors in the implementations of sustainable tourism in more than one destination, therefore, we strongly believe that our involvement is transcending the mere goal of profit as we become integral part of an industry that help locals and municipalities to protect their natural capital, save their cultural identity, and achieve sustainable tourism. We also consider that our clients or travelers play and important role to make this happen.
