Description of Argentina private tour with self drive
Departs on a date to suit you, from September through April.
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetBecause we are an Anglo-Spanish company and have all spent a great deal of time living, working and traveling in Latin America, we feel an enhanced sense of duty to care for and protect the local environment. Maintaining the balance of these places is especially important in places like Patagonia and Iguazu, where delicate ecosystems are inhabited by wildlife who were here long before we were. We work directly with local guides who share our ethos, rather than going through the filter of a local agency.
Our tours are low impact. We specialise in private tours, typically solo travelers, couples, small families and small groups of friends. In this way we are able to be more considerate and thoughtful in the way we interact with the environment. This approach is reciprocated by our travelers, who are typically conscientious, respectful and considered by nature.
We are working with local partners to eradicate plastic use wherever possible, including eliminating single use plastic bottles and encouraging alternatives to plastics used in the bathrooms and in dining areas.
PeopleWe believe that thoughtfully tailored vacations benefit everyone; the locals, the environment, the wildlife and you, the visitor. By working directly with drivers, hoteliers, guides and estancia owners in Argentina we are able to develop close relationships with the people who you meet on your travels, and they benefit directly from your trip.
Removing the filter of a distant agency means we can ensure your time here is more beneficial to the local community and that the money you spend before and during your trip makes a bigger and more positive impact. It also means that sustainable and responsible travel is part of our DNA. Everything we have ever done is fuelled by a respect for the partners with whom we work. Done right, tourism is a great engine of income generation for people who are living in remote but beautiful areas. Ultimately, the importance of making a genuine and mutually beneficial connection with the local people you meet on your travels should never be underestimated.
The finca (farmhouse) in which you stay near Salta is owned and run by a local couple, originally from Italy. If you like your food, you might spend the morning in the kitchen, helping to make some empanadas or other food. You'll also stay on a privately-owned wine resort in Cafayate with outstanding eco-credentials and a a working sheep and cattle farm that has been owned by the same family for four generations near El Calafate.
Throughout your trip you enjoy the company of local guides and drivers, who know their areas intimately, and have a vacation guide with recommendations for local restaurants that we have enjoyed on our travels. In Los Cardones National Park we ask travelers not to buy any souvenirs made from the cactus as they are trying to discourage the locals from harvesting them.
